Anyone else here play Terraria? The new 1.2 patch just dropped and it added tons of new content. So far I'm finding it a lot of fun. For those unfamiliar, it's a sort of 2D minecraft with heavy metroidvania elements.

I don't but I've been considering trying it out. I'm a big Minecrafter.

You should definitely at least give it a shot. I prefer it to minecraft, but a lot of people disagree with me. The building component is a more limited than minecraft in what you can do (some things arent really doable in 2D), but there are a ton of aesthetic options. Check out some of the things people have built. But that's not the whole game. The action and exploration is quite fun. And the boss fights are stellar.

Terraria is on sale for $2.50 on steam for the next couple of days. Well worth the money. Go buy it now.

Well I guess no one cares, but I'm going to post the base I just finished anyway, cause I'm proud of it and it took forever.

Love the base.

I love terraria too, I just get bored with it after beating it. I still have it though would need to redownload it as well as steam. Is the new patch worth it? I mean I've seen the new patches in the past and always think this is cool but only takes about 10 mink to get bored if the one or two new mechanics they added. So is there some real additional content this time like new armor sets bosses or weapons?

There's been a ton of changes. Well worth reinstalling. Full changelog is here: http://gamingprotocol.net/terraria-1-2-changelog-release-1st-oct-2013/

Short version: New hardmode versions of the jungle and the dungeon. 4 new bosses, and several minibosses. New (end game and other) armor tiers. New end game weapons. A bunch of new NPC's. Tons of additional things for builders. New biomes. Also theres a map which is handy.

Been looking into getting that game, as it looks really cool.
Checked out the link to your tree house and it was pretty sick!
I also play minecraft (and I have heard these two games compared a lot). But I think there's certainly things about terraria that you can't get from minecraft (and vice versa). Personally, I really like platforming games, and games with a creative and/or exploratory element to them.
Probably going to be picking this one up soon!
