So, I'm not accustomed to play that kind of game and I'm wasn't really sure what to do here.
I'm especially surprised that my opponent took his Contraband before Mountebank...
What was my mistakes ? How otherwise would you play this game ?

I'm trying to figure out why neither of you went after Urchin and Mercenary.  Force the slog player to get all eight Gardens, while hitting with a discard attack often.

I don't think you got the stonemasons right. The wishing wells are going to be moderately poor here so it would be better to get a stonemason with two mountebanks, something your opponent achieved but with quite a risk. You need five cost cards in your deck to trash into pairs of gardens (or gold to trash into two duchies) so getting wishing wells doesn't help that either.
