Is there any recourse to be had against poor sports?

People who deliberately afk when you're about to win
People who are obviously afk'ing during your turn, and you have to wait and wait for their turn
Nonsense like that

It seems like it used to be that if you waited long enough, the opponent would get disconnected for inactivity. That doesn't seem to happen any more.

I'm currently in a game where I'm about to win but my opponent was given the choice to discard 2 cards from my vault, and I've been waiting for her response for over 15 minutes now. Pretty annoying. What's going on here?

Download the extension and put a number like "4000+"  in your game name (I'm sure you've seen players with these game names).  That will auto-kick low rank players.  I'm painting broad strokes here, but generally it's lower level players who do things like this.  What I do is raise the number a bit every time I run in to someone doing something like this.  The extension also has a blacklist for players that keeps them from joining your games.

Sadly, it does not look like Goko themselves are going to implement features like these in the near future.

It has become a verb in the same sense that lol has become an exclamation.  Only on the internet, mainly for under-30s, but not at all uncommon.

For the future, you can use the extension to blacklist the player. Click "User Settings" on the main screen. For the current game, you have no recourse. Sorry.

Goko mostly feels that cheaters should be treated at least as well as honest players. For their first eight months you could avoid a loss in a pro game by just closing your browser. And there was this little embarrassment with a player who had suddenly and mysteriously jumped to #1.
