Tables makes videos?

I've considered doing this for a bit, finally decided to record a test run. It looks like the first few seconds got cut off, but now I know that happens I can adjust so whatever.

I'm streaming this on Twitch - I can't quite see how to do local recordings with my current software but I might work it out. Or keep streaming, why not? It's not like anyone's gonna bother watching the (slightly) delayed stream to learn my hands (I guess).

Mostly at this point I'm less interested in how I suck and more about how good/bad it seems. Am I interesting to watch? Too slow? Is the quality okay? If I make more videos, would people be interested in watching?

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

No. Don't make videos. I can't handle all the cool accents! No one will ever want to listen to us Midwestern video recorders ever again...  ;)

The biggest incentive for making Dominion videos is so that Robz can tell you how cool your accent is.  For what it's worth, Tables has a very mild accent to my ears, and the Midwest accent is rather exotic.

It was very watchable, apart from the actual strategy of course.  ;D

Well, that sounds positive enough for me to give another video a go. I did play pretty badly in that game, I know :P. Hopefully these videos will give an idea of how less skilled players reason and the like, or something.

Okay, I've recorded two more videos. I've also since found that it's quite easy to make local recordings, although I guess I'll need to work out a slight level of proficiency with windows MM or something similar to cut out unnecessary footage.

Yay, more videos.

Not such a fan of livestreams myself, but would anyone here watch a livestream of Dominion?

I would certainly consider it, and would also do it :P.

I'm currently sitting in Outpost with a game open with intent to record, will probably wait for about the next 10 minutes or so.

Dominion Online #1: Tables vs. NoMoreFun

Still perfecting my recording settings, but it's watchable at least.

The board seemed to me to not have too many tricks to it. I went mostly Big Money with Goons and Mountebanks, while NoMoreFun, from what I can tell, was trying to get multiple Goons in play via Haven and Village, and get extra buy from Counterfeit (he can tell you if that's a good/bad assessment of his strategy, of course). Any feedback from more experienced players would be nice.

Dominion Online #2: Tables vs. Joseph2302

Hopefully big improvements in terms of video quality (edit: Still not using the full screen size... Hmm... I thought I fixed that, will look into it. Might re-upload this video, actually). This should feature such changes as: Readable card text! Goko User Extension! An avatar with a person riding a horse riding a horse! (+1 respect to anyone who can identify either the character or source of the image)

Possibly some small improvements in terms of strategy. Worse at Dominion than me? See how I evaluate the kingdom, decide on cards to buy and play out my hands. Better at Dominion than me? Laugh at my mistakes, misbuys and misplays, and then give comments on how I could have improved.

This game wasn't especially exciting - no Guilds cards, no +actions, no trashing, just plain old Big Money. I said towards the end of the video I think my Embassy buy was a mistake... do you agree? Perhaps, it was the other actions that were mistakes and I should have just gone Jack+Embassy BM? Or was it actually a likely good move? Thoughts on Pillage here? I said I'm inexperienced with it, it seemed to do okay, so eh.

Edit: I think I figured out the issue with size (in short: Windows movie maker sucks). Hopefully next time will be bigger.

Dominion Online #3: Tables vs. Joseph2302.

Most of my upload issues fixed. Now I just need to not start speaking too early or hit end too early. Ah well. Guilds game, was fun.

Afraid not right now - exam in less than 10 hours!

But ask me again tomorrow, and I definitely will be.

RTT: My apologies. I made an error in recording our game, making the video unusable. But I would say it wasn't a very exciting board, so probably not a big loss. I am however now sitting in Outpost ready to play and record against anyone who wants to play.

Dominion Online #4: Tables vs. RTT

A more interesting game than the last, I think. I think RTT played better... but a small blunder in endgame play cost him the win, as I forced a draw.

At this point, I'm interested in feedback on either my play, how to make the videos more interesting, or the like. Right now my commentary is very much just a stream of thought, but I think I spend a little too much effort just saying things, rather than stopping, thinking about my plays and the like. But maybe I'm wrong. It's kind of hard to go back and objectively judge oneself, especially when one knows roughly the moves they took.

Should I take the lack of feedback as a sign people are generally not interested in my videos? That's possibly fine... I was thinking of taking a slightly different direction anyway. Focusing more on a "beginners guide to intermediate strategy (and beyond)" type thing, which I dunno if it would be interesting but seems more up my alley to do, since I like teaching.

For me, there can't be enough Dominion videos. I like your videos, keep doing them.
