Turn 2 Gold

As inspired from a thread at BGG (linked in the spoiler below), I would like to post a solution for all: In a standard two player game, how is it possible to get a turn 2 Gold?

If you know the answer because of the BGG thread, please don't ruin it for others!

Hint: Turn order matters.

Edit: Changed the color of the font for the link to spoiler thread.

Turn 1: Buy tunnel, opponent buys noble brigand and reveals it.

=D

Technically turn 2 hasn't happened yet...

papaHav, how did the tunnel end up back in your draw pile? Where did your other 5 cards go?

I can only see that working in a four-player game.

I'm already holding the other 5 cards.
Opponent buys noble brigand, I reshuffle and reveal tunnel.

That wasn't the original solution (which also involved Noble Brigand in a more mundane way) but I love it ;D

Even better! There is now a solution that grants you a Gold BEFORE you even begin your 2nd turn. How about platinum? Hehe, just kidding, I doubt that that is even remotely possible. But what is the fastest way to get a Platinum?

Turn 3 Platinum:
ECCCC -> Nomad Camp
nc + EECC -> Fools Gold x 2
nc + fg + fg + c + c -> Platinum

On the BGG thread someone came up with a way to get a turn 2 Province in a 3-player game. I can do one better, although admittedly a lot more far-fetched.

Turn 2 Platinum:

TURN 1:
Player 1 buys a Noble Brigand.
Player 2 buys a Council Room and shuffles.
Player 3 buys a Masquerade and shuffles.

TURN 2:
Player 1 does whatever.
Player 2 plays his Council Room, which has magically appeared in his hand due to Player 1's Noble Brigand. He now has at least 6 Coppers in his hand, so he buys a Gold and shuffles.
Player 3's hand, having been aided by Player 2's Council Room, is a Masquerade, an Estate and 4 Coppers. He plays the Masquerade, draws two more Coppers, and passes his Estate to Player 1. Player 2 has a brain aneurysm and passes his Gold to Player 3. Player 3 now has in hand a Gold and 6 Coppers, and happily buys a Platinum.

Fine, if you're going to put other players into the mix, how about a turn 2 colony in a 4 player game (same technique gives platinum in 3p)? (And nobody has to have an aneurysm).

Player 1 -> Noble Brigand
  -> Player 4 discards 2 estates, gains copper, now has deck/discard is CCC/EEC
Player 2 -> Council Room
  -> Draws councilroom
Player 3 -> Council Room
  -> Draws councilroom
Player 4 -> Coppersmith
  -> Draws CCC, reshuffle, C + Coppersmith

Player 1 -> Does nothing
Player 2 -> Plays council room
  -> Player 4 draws Copper
Player 3 -> Plays council room
  -> Player 4 draws Copper
Player 4 -> Plays Coppersmith + 6 copper, Buys Colony

Yeah, I was thinking you might be able to have some fun with Coppersmith.

With more Hinterlands games up on CR, seeing more nonstandard starting buys due to Noble Brigand.

In this 3-player game, the third player opened Vault/Gold, yet finished in last place. Perhaps buying a Scout instead a Remake with 4 on turn 3 had something to do with it.
