"Warfreak2 chooses a reaction to reveal"

This is normally just ironic; there's only one reaction card I could possibly reveal, so the fact that the text is there reveals that the card is in my hand anyway. But I just had a game with Fools Gold and Contraband, where the information that I have (or don't have) Fools Gold in my hand (which of course I would choose not to reveal) could affect the decision of which card to block.

Isotropic had this same problem ("Waiting for X to reveal a reaction...")

I think this may be a necessary evil so that you know the game isn't waiting on you, but on your opponent to do something.  Otherwise you play a card and the game just sits there; you know it's either frozen or your opponent has a reaction card.

Yes, there's no easy solution. I think it has to say a reaction may be revealed if the opponent has one, but it could say that (and pause for, say, half a second) whether or not they have the relevant reaction card.

For Innovation (played at innovation.isotropic.org) Dougz implemented a strategy to try and prevent information leak.  Upon playing a card which could result in player interaction, a small random delay was invoked to prevent the player to gain information about their opponent.

Then again, this seems like a much more inconvenient thing for Dominion just due to the nature of the gameplay.  I think it is a necessary inconvenience of playing online vs. irl.

A "short random delay" already sounds like a normal experience on Goko, anyway.

I like to think of this regarding goko bashing.

A "short random delay" already sounds like a normal experience on Goko, anyway.

And let's please not have them add an intentional short random delay, as I don't trust them at all to implement that "short" correctly.

Imagine the already time-consuming arduous task of the infamous Scrying Pool engine.... The horror!  The horror!

I think this may be a necessary evil so that you know the game isn't waiting on you,

I think the best would be if it was possible to tell beforehand what to do with reactions. Only when you haven't done that there should be a delay. It should be enough to be able to state USE or DON'T USE a specific reaction ability, and it could be some graphical indication right next to the reaction part of the card. For conditional reactions you'd have to untick both possibilities and there will be a pause. (Like if you want to Moat a Witch but not a Mlitia.)

Oh word, they'd use a gaussian distribution so that there's a small chance the delay could be a month, or it could be negative and spacetime would collapse and it would be Goko's fault.

Scrying Pool with reactions makes me want to tear my eyes out regardless. As does any attack engine vs. Secret Chamber.

A similar problem with an easier fix is the "Opponent has X Coins and Y Buys" message.  Goko is revealing whether or not your opponent had additional actions that you could have played.

All they need to do is not reveal the coins/buys message until your opponent actually plays his treasure.  Better yet, get rid of the message entirely... the UI already tells you how many buys and coins they have!

Something I thought is that there could be a button that says, "I don't have any reactions" or something like that.  It gives the same delay, but might be kind of annoying.

Another simple solution is to add a 1-2 second pause in situations where it could happen and to do not display the message until that pause is over.

I was hoping for the Cauchy distribution.
