Actually I think Draconians might be best.

how do I mark everything in the game for autopickup? I plan on feeding oozes after all.  Do they eat skeletons?

BTW Just died to Nergille on XL13 cuz she sees invis and I didnt' know that spectral orcs can shoot bolts, would have blinked with a scroll otherwise. Char was so awesome, I almost clear Orc with Invis alone, had Darkness, Blink spell, all other kind of awesome spells, artefact buckler, good dagger..  sigh.

My strategy is to dump all of every floors contents next to the stairs so they can be easily accessed later once me and Jivya are on a first name basis with eachother.  So I can handle the burden.

Skeletons eventually rot completely like chunks, it turns out, so it doesn't matter much whether oozes eat them for my hoarding tactics.

This sounds like an extremely tedious strategy. The game is generally designed to discourage picking up every item on the floor.

Actually, compared to some stashing strategies, it's quite lite.

I only stash food/scrolls/pots/situational jewelry/situational backup weapons/sometimes wands.

Like, I don't like to carry all my blink scrolls/speed potions with me, in case I catch fire or something. Other things mostly as they take too much weight/space to carry.

I have the summon fire and fire elementals lantern, and the wind version, and two copies of the water version.  When I unleash them they kick some ass, and they recharge fairly quickly as I gain experience.  Am I just lucky to get so many of these things? Are they so effective because I've been using evocations? (I level it, for wands).

Do they become less useful late game?

It was on an island i had to teleport onto.  I almost died because I pissed off my god when my fire elementals damage my water elementals.  Either that or one of my wands shot through steam and hit an ally i couldn't see.

I have a level 7 fire yoshi!

I actually really like that orc priests are in the game.  They balance things out by guaranteeing that maximum health matters, and by making sure damage output matters.

There are no games that I ever play with sound on. In fact, I rarely ever have sound on period (only for videos and even then sometimes I watch them in silence).

Seems hard to get stuck in a situation like that with unIDed scrolls as the only mistake.

Right now I'm playing a High Orc Beserker.  But I accidentally got in a bad situation where i had 5 health against an orc priest and an orc warrior.  I was forced to bow to Beogh to turn them neutral.  Now Trog wants to kill me, I successfully barely Teleported out of brute summoning but he's not mollified yet.

I had a lot of Trog piety, it's a shame.

Started again after some time of notplaying, with a great run of SpEn (Best so far, lol), and fucked up cuz I just had to see "how does the Slime Pit looks like" after clearing Orc and Lair. Not even mad, though, as killing a heard of death yaks without taking a scratch and one-stab killing all the nasty uniques is so satisfying. :D Also realized that Snake is going to be a bitch as Nagas see invis.

If you have rpois you can probably just kite the nagas.

Kiting is not a problem, I can kite mostly anything in game (except like.. wolves). But I cannot really kill anything that doesn't sleep or is confused or cannot see me. So once one guy wakes and alarms the others, I have to put em all to sleep/confuse them, which is much harder to do visible. I am much faster, though, that might help.

Try to see if maybe you can find Nagas near stairs and bring them up one floor with you.  If you can survive doing that, you can kite them all you want on the cleared floor and repeat that until all or almost all the Nagas are gone.  Then you can kill the other stuff with invis

rpois is huge though.  You only need one rank of it (one rank is the max rank) and it blocks 90% of all poisoning occurences.

Before you decide to stairdance, you should remember that whenever you enter a previously unseen floor, you get the first move. So the second time you go down and up the stairs you will receive twice as much damage as the first time, plus additional damage because more enemies have moved over to the stairs. This is why I prefer to use tele over stairdancing. (for large crowds)
