Yeah, I've just looked it up too, its 1 in 12 :D

Lash Lord is status (Like Divorced and similar) and not a personality trait, so it wouldn't carry on to trainees.

That's pretty cool, I didn't think to try and do that. I didn't get Strength of the Walrus quest this game, but did get Lash Lord. I wonder if you could pass on that trait? It's possible it would be too unfair to pass on a trait that makes heroes level 10 at the cost of having white hair.

I didn't even realize how low the chance of having a hero survive the Lash quest is. I was extremely lucky to get a success the second time I encountered it. I just looked it up.

Hmm.. did you have black characters before? I had 2 runs and only now (on my third, I started on Brutal) did I see them.

Balls of Steel (Binding of Isaac racing) is running right now for people interested. Best 2 out of 3 races to Chest or Dark Room, depending on whether it's winners or losers bracket. Next match is losers finals and the match after that is grand finals.

http://www.twitch.tv/bostv

Hyphenated from here is in losers finals right now if people want to cheer on f.ds people ;)

Hmmm, no, maybe they got patched in? It would be nice, the multiculturalism of XCom always appealed to me.

Level 3-2: I open a purple chest, it's the Transmute spell. I break a crate 5 tiles away, it's the Ring of Becoming. Well, if you insist...
It was also the second time I manage an all-zone run with Cadence :P

One interesting thing I've noticed is that, as I improve at the game, I die way more often in Zone 2. This is because I am getting much better at handling Zone 1, so I don't need good equipment to complete it anymore, so I often reach Zone 2 undergeared, compared to what I was used to. The fact that I can't keep the beat in 2-2 or 2-3 to save my life doesn't help either.

Yesterday I scored #23 on the Nuclear Throne daily run! Out of several thousand players. I looped twice, definitely my best run ever, daily or otherwise.

So this is actually from April, but I never posted it and it is a pretty great image so I am posting it now:

The orbs just kept missing me. If I remember correctly, one of them looped back and hit the spider.

Anyone still playing Necrodancer? The racing league CoNDOR is holding sign-ups for a season played swiss-style: https://twitter.com/CoNDORLeague/status/622892382648860672. Necrodancer is a great game for racing, so I'd recommend signing up if it sounds interesting. (Streaming on Twitch is required.)

I finished streaming Dominion and felt like playing Binding of Isaac, so I figured I might as well leave the stream going.

EDIT: Offline. I need to practice more before the expansion drops apparently.

I still play, but I don't think I'm good enough to race.
There's an introductory tournament (CoNDUIT) coming up this Friday 7pm EDT that still has spaces open: https://twitter.com/SmaddyDiva/status/625855368325918720 (signup: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1u4QkuISo4myCNhUM51kfm7W-iRJmggb-2Cl9bYiKdVk/viewform?c=0&w=1). Going by previous times, I'd say the level is basically that if you can clear the game without dying in around 15 minutes on most attempts, you can put on a good showing in at least the first couples round of this tourney. (In the early rounds, the intro tourney is way more about not dying than it is about speed.)

I finally, FINALLY, finished Hell in Spelunky.

I had last played the game--and beaten Olmec--a couple of years ago, but picked it up again recently. I eventually learned to rob shops and the Black Market, but even so, jumping through the hoops required to even get to Hell is quite a challenge. I found that I have the focus to play just one good attempt (post-Black-Market, say) a night; after that, I play hasty, which is nothing but death. Thus, for about the past month, I've been playing one good game a night, and tonight was finally the night.

Anyway, I feel accomplished, and relieved, and I'll probably put the game down for a few night. I'm still interested in mopping up the last of the achievements, but I don't think those'll have the same kind of emotional pressure.

Edit: 24 hours later, still feeling good about it. This must be what a ghost feels like after its murder is avenged.

Is there a way to know when a good roguelike will go on sale besides checking steam every day? I don't actually use steam much.  I want to pick something like ftl or binding of isaac on a cheap day.

Put them on your wishlist. You will get an e-mail when they go on sale.

I have realized that I can play Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup on Webtiles from work.

Can someone help me fill out the forms to file for unemployment?  Then I can just hold onto them until they are inevitably needed.

The hardest thing I ever did was force myself to stop playing Stone Soup on my lunch break because I would inevitably take 2 hour lunches.

The online crawl people have been trying to win every combo on an account called comborobin. If anyone wants to help out on webtiles, the password is "robin".

Depends, do they need someone to win a MiBe?

I have a guess about whether they do..

I can't figure which, if any, key in Dungeon Crawl is not already in use so I can make a macro.
