The outlaws head out into the darkness, and shortly you hear the galloping of hooves. The dust cloud settles to the ground and you see Sam Bass covered with dust, a gouge in his throat.
Scene 2: Mysterious Visitors
Now that the outlaws have run off, you have a chance to look at the stage. The front wheels aren't in great shape, and the horses have run off. For anyone with the repair skill, you can tell that it's fixable, but it will likely take most of the night. Jeb starts pulling out some tools from the back of the stage, while Danny gets himself set in a good position to defend his brother. Jeb turns to the posse, "Well, I got a long night's work ahead if we're gonna make it to Deadwood in any sort of time. If'n y'all wouldn't mind trackin' down the horses we could be gettin' off by morning like as not. I'd recommend keepin' in pairs at the least, it ain't exactly safe out here at night."
Looking out from the stage, the plains are covered in darkness. The sky looks like a black and purple river filled with twinkling diamonds. There are sparks and flashes from within distant clouds, and faint throbs of thunder echo across the distance.
