Yeah.  Saw it at an FYE when the DVD of the film was launched.  Was quite tempted.

Goooood evening, good evening, good evening, and welcome to another day of Hunger Games!

Let's meet our tributes again shall we?

Yesterday TwistedArcher and Insomniac killed their targets with precision.

Galzria and mail-mi took the defensive route and stopped their attackers from getting any further in this competition.

And liopoil, xeiron, and Kuildeous decided that discretion was key and didn't take part in any violence.

Today wasn't as eventful as yesterday, but we still have some highlights for you:

Insomniac, high on his bloodlust from yesterday, decided to go after one of the players who decided to cut and run. liopoil was ready for him though, having put down pit traps the night before. Insomniac didn't see the altered ground before it was too late, and with him goes District 5's chances of their tributes winning this year.

mail-mi also decided to protect himself from attackers, but as no one came he became more and more paranoid, scarcely daring to move.  He passed away in the night due to severe weather conditions and failing to build himself shelter.

TwistedArcher, Galzria, xeiron, and Kuildeous all decided to keep to themselves and had very uneventful nights. We might have to do something about that folks!

Actions taken:
TwistedArcher Nothing
liopoil Defend
mail-mi Defend
Galzria Nothing
Insomniac Attack liopoil
xeiron Nothing
Kuildeous Nothing

Alive:
District 1:
TwistedArcher

District 2:
liopoil

District 4:
Galzria

District 10:
xeiron

District 12:
Kuildeous

Man we're all a bunch of cowards

I actually shot, but I shot a dead player. I didn't feel like bothering to check and see if he was still living. My commands consisted of a "do nothing" clause however if said player happened to already be dead.

Sorry to keep you all waiting!
We had a bit of an incident earlier in they day, as a wild fire spread through the area that the tributes were hiding.  Those that carefully holed themselves up weren't able to get out in time. Sorry Districts 1 and 12, your tributes TwistedArcher and Kuildeous perished in the flames.
liopoil decided to switch gears and go on the offensive, catching xeiron unawares as he was fleeing the forest fire. Looks like you're also out of the running District 10.
Galzria managed to stay away from most of the action.

Only two tributes are left folks! And what a wonderful pair they are. liopoil from District 2 was a favorite to win at the start, by far the strongest we've seen in quite some time.  Galzria from District 4 has been among the most interesting competitors to watch, attacking a dead player the other day, the ones that aren't all there tend to do the best in these exciting games! Who do you think will win? Cast your votes!

Actions taken:
TwistedArcher Defend
liopoil Attack xeiron
Galzria Nothing
xeiron Nothing
Kuildeous Defend

Alive:
District 2:
liopoil

District 4:
Galzria

You have 24 hours to submit your next action.  I will reveal this early if both of you get it in early.

Everyone loses, but I'll let you two try again for a more hollow victory each subsequent time.

I'm not sure I feel for you the way Kat and Peeta felt for each other at their time of reckoning.

Besides, it's quite possible the Capital will "bring back" some of our fallen comrades to... "help" us along.

No, I think I'm better off looking after myself. Care for some berries?

Ah, but see, it's not quite RPS.

R: Wins on S, Ties on R, Losses on P
P: Wins on R, Ties on P, Losses on S
S: Wins on P, Ties on S, Losses on R

Compare:

K-D-H (kill, defend, hide):

K: Wins on H, "Ties" on K, Losses on D
D: Wins on K, "Ties" on D, Losses on H
H: Wins on D, Ties on H, Losses on K

The difference? K and D are actually Win/Lose/Lose. Hiding is an acceptable choice for two instances of opponent choice : Hide & Defend. If you choose Kill or Defend, you only survive on one choice by your opponent. Thus each turn your chance of survival is 66% if you hide, and only 33% if you Kill or Defend.

Care to gamble?

I knew that, I was hoping you would think it was RPS. I did the math, rounded to the nearest tenth of a percent, then went to random.org to get a random integer between 1 and 1000 to determine my action. sending it now.

and, by the way, we never tie. if we both shoot in the air we play the same game again.

chance of survival by hiding is not 66%, nor is it 33% if you kill or defend. Chance of survival is an irrational number no matter what you do.

PPE: nevermind, I'll take table's advice.

No no no.  What you do is you sacrifice yourself.  Your opponent is declared the "winner", but it is nothing more than a title.  He becomes a pawn o the Capitol, a glorified shill or crooked salesman who endorses that which he loathes, that which fashioned him into this cruel mockery of fame and fortune.  He remembers your noble sacrifice every night as he drinks himself into a stupor.  The guilt hangs on him like a crimson robe, but the colour speaks of bloody murder rather than the royalty at which he pretends.  Every smile he throws at the camera masks a tortured mind, a sickened heart.  Oh yes, he is the so-called winner, but he knows the truth: he did not win that fateful day.  You did, the moment that the last ember of your life flickered away.  You won, because you got out.  In all but the title, he lost the game.
