PBF Stratego
« on: April 21, 2013, 08:11:55 pm »

Anyone want to play me in a game?  It should work very easy via spreadsheet. I trust everyone here (and I hope they trust me) so I don't think we need a moderater. We'll just have to have 2 spreadsheets with one for each player.

Each player will choose top or bottom and put their units on that half of the spreadsheet. It will show all of your pieces and their values, and then the other half will be just black squares. You post your move here in thread (Ex: E1 to E2) and then both players will move that piece on both of their seperate maps. Should work semi-well because each cell should either be colored black, a number 1-9, or a 'B' or 'F' for flag.

Once I have someone signed up, I'll go dig up a copy of the rules online and post it here as well as the necessary adaptations needed to play by forum.

If you sign up, it'd probably best if you usually get online around the same time as me to keep things running at a nice clip. For those who don't stalk me, I get on around  7-11 AM forum time. We could even start right now.

Anyone?
We could even play with that variant where once a piece's value has been made common knowledge, it's value is always shown. This could help keep the mesmerization of the pieces inbetween gaming sessions much less of a hassle.

I'm not that interested in PBF 2-player games. How about Stratego 4?

I'll play Arch, but not just yet. I'll get back to you in the next couple of days.

4 player Stratego? Never heard of it, but I'd be interested in playing.

I like it a lot. Main differences:

- Flag isn't hidden
- Flag has to be brought to the castle, the center spot of the board.
- Some other pieces, I think there are no bombs, but Cannons instead which can shoot pieces from the castle.
- You can re-recruit pieces after a certain time.

That looks really neat! We have 3 players with you, Jimmmmm, and me. So we need one more, and then wait a little for when Jimmmmm is ready.

Anyone else want to play?
