I am curious to your most stylish finishes.

Sure, you could KC your Bridges and buy 8 Colonies. This is somewhat stylish, but is it stylish enough? I wonder...

Now how about KC'ing a Smugglers and voluntarily grabbing 3 Curses (your opponent gained one due to an Embargoed Province), emptying the pile and winning?

I think that could be a little more fashionable.

So, time to show off your stylish last turns.

I can remember a game where I used two feasts to empty the city pile, put them on deck using a watchtower, drew back up to 6 cards with the watchtower, then played the cities out for a winning last turn. That felt good at the time.

Once I finished the game by KC'ing three coppersmiths and playing 11 coppers (worth 10$ each) and had enough buys from previous Concil rooms and Worker's villages to buy all Provinces and few Duchies.

DG's post reminded me of this recent game, in which I finished off the Ironworks pile with a Watchtower in hand, then drew those Ironworks and finished off the Watchtowers as well, grabbing an Estate for the 1-0 win.

Whenever the topic of "finishing in style" comes up, I feel like I have to mention this game, which I ended by buying all 32 Victory cards on the board at once.

Then yesterday, I sort of pulled off the flip side of that in this game—likewise enabled by King's Court and Grand Market—which I ended by buying the first Colony, and then buying four King's Courts and eight Tacticians to three-pile and and the game prematurely with a score of 11–0.

I like this one, it's such a dirty steal. ;D

I've certainly Feasted a Feast, at least (at least).

I'm rather fond of this one, in which I secure a 2 VP to 1 VP victory by buying the last 3 Throne Rooms, the last 4 Courtyards, and 2 Estates, with precisely all my coin ($24) and all my buys (9). This was an interesting game in that I repeatedly bought Festival instead of Gold with $6, with no regrets. The presence of Library can hugely elevate Festival's value.

An interesting endgame play at turn 18 here: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201110/06/game-20111006-211418-48cdffb6.html

led plays a Trade Route.
... trashing a Colony.
... getting +1 buy and +$3.
led plays a Platinum.
led buys a Colony.
led buys a Colony.

Trashed a Colony just for the +Buy, since I already had enough for 2 Colonies and wanted to accelerate the end of the game.

Also notable, the bizarre Trade Route/Walled Village opening.... I didn't want to buy any Silver, ever, and would rather bank a cantrip toward my eventual Conspirator engine than buy any of the other cards on offer. Arguably the even more bizarre Trade Route/Great Hall might have been a slightly better opening, but I didn't want to tempt my opponent into buying early Trade Routes (which I believed to be quite strong on this board). Before you ask: yes, getting a Woodcutter in midgame would probably have been helpful!

Agreed. Greatexpectations, when did you make the decision to go for the Curses pile ending?

thanks guys. i had originally bought the embargos with the purpose of blocking the torturer and conspirators i figured he was going for next.

once he got his second tactician, i figured he would just run a double tactician with his conspirators. i knew that if i didn't end it quick at that point i was going to lose. as soon as he bought the torturers i thought that just taking the curses might be my best option.

i admittedly got quite lucky with my final tactician draw, as well as the fact that he kept running the double tactician. if he does one more double province turn i was toast. he definitely had the better engine, i just got a good opportunity and went with it.

Centuries later, archaeologists discover the remains of your ancient civilization.

Evidence of thriving towns, Pottery, roads, and a centralized government amaze the startled scientists.

Finally, they come upon a stone tablet, which contains but one mysterious phrase!

'ISOTROPIC WILL RETURN!'

Winning by 2 estates vs 1 :)
Terrible play by me until the lucky last turn.

No, we didn't want to have another KC/bridge thread. Even 7-0 makes it hardly stylish enough in the presence of fairgrounds.

I second that this is an ending I was looking for in this thread:

i haven't ever feasted for a curse, but yesterday i placed an embargo on curses and then bought three to finish the pile and steal an undeserved win.

I just had an opponent remodel a colony into a province and then buy the last province to win. That was pretty nice.
