I wrote this strategy article not long after the game came out, when I had probably played in the neighborhood of 20 2-player games, and only really had one person to discuss strategy with. I find it interesting to look back on that. A lot of the comments, I still agree with, but I didn't respect early scoring strategies enough, which led to several very questionable ratings.

How to explain? How to describe? Even the omniscient viewpoint quails.

I don't think it's that outdated -- it's still a great starting point.  (It was certainly that for me!)

And here I was thinking I got to listen to a 2 and a half year old kid talk about innovation cards  :/

Oh well, I guess good analysis is worth reading as well.

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

I liked the write-up at the time, but just on a brief perusal I'd have to say I agree with most of your ratings (though probably not for age 1).  Of course, now that I play primarily echoes, card "ratings" have changed significantly.  Pottery for me was a pretty big gamebreaker in the base game, but I find I never use it unless I am trying to gain symbols or if I have a nice blue "echoes" splay going.  It's just too slow compared to other things you could be doing.
