Not really, this kingdom is not particularly complex. Your opponent went too far for the Grand Markets and lost when he should have just competed for Provinces.
You could have explored the Council Room - Bank synergy instead of detouring for Grand Markets. You're pretty likely to double-Province if you play Council Room and draw a Bank in hand. That would mean, however, the it's better for you to forego Markets and Grand Markets, and I'm not sure if it's actually better.
