procession a gainer to empty the last pile, with Watchtower in hand. Trash the replacement on its way in, and also the gained card. Then Island away the Watchtower?

But then you still have the Procession in your deck, don't you?

What about Band of Misfits as Chapel to trash your deck, then play BOM as an Embargo?

Island doesn't work because it goes back to your deck at the end. Watchtower doesn't because you can't get rid of the watchtower. You have to gain a card to end the game, and you can't gain a card that doesn't go to your deck unless you have watchtower.

Sure it can be done faster, but eh. Wasn't too hard to figure out the necessary cards, but actually doing it took a few tries as I realised I forgot to leave the right cards in deck at the end.

Although... the no cards in deck at the end of the game is kinda shaky here. I dunno if it counts any more. I mean, if this counts, there's no reason simply ending the game while drawing your last few cards shouldn't count... so bah.

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Cards set aside by Island, Native Village, Haven, etc. all return to your deck.  Island won't help.

I'm seeing a way to empty 3 piles BEFORE the end of your last turn, then AFTER that drawing the last card you gained and trashing it before trashing the last card (i.e. embargo/death card/etc)

Emptying the deck of all cards isn't the issue though - how do you end the game in that state? Assume you Chapel to Death Cart, then Death Cart to empty your deck... then what? The game is still going....

But the game did not end because the supply did not change on the last turn. And if you buy something with your $5, you have that card on your deck. And if you reveal WT, you have WT on your deck. And if you reveal Trader and Silvers are gone, you have Trader on your deck. And so on...

I really don't think you can gain a card and trash all of your cards, while only playing cards that trash themself.

You just have to gain a card on your last turn to empty a pile, and have enough actions left to trash whatever is left in your hand and/or deck after that.

I'm too hungry to think off all the cards that do these goofy things though.

Kingdom with Mining Village, Band of Misfits, Embargo, Feast, and some trasher (Chapel, Steward, Forager whatever). Empty two piles not Mining Village, or Embargo. One Mining Village left in kingdom. Trash deck down to BoM, Feast, and at least two Mining Villages. Play MV, trash it. Play Feast, gaining last MV. Play MV drawing MV, trash it. Play MV, trash it. Play BoM as embargo.

Don't know about hard mode.

Hard Mode:  No Mining Village

This is easy to do without perfect shuffle luck, though it may take many turns.


Empty two piles.
Gain and trash all Spoils.
Gain and trash all Mercenaries.  Use Graverobber or Rogue to bring Urchin back to get more Mercenaries.  Leave one Urchin in the supply.
Trash down with BoM until you only have BoM, Urchin and Pillage.

On your last turn, you have those thee cards in hand.
Play BoM as Feast, gaining the last Urchin (Urchin2) and trashing BoM.
Play Urchin, drawing Urchin2.
Play Urchin2, trashing Urchin for nothing (all Mercenaries gone).
Play Pillage, trashing both Urchin2 and Pillage for nothing (all Mercenaries and Spoils gone).

Original 2 piles + Urchins are gone.  Game is over, nothing is left.

That works, Mic Qsenoch.

eHalcyon's is pretty close to my original convoluted solution, it just needs one key card to replace Mining Village.  Of course, that key card works just as well for Mic Qsenoch's solution.  That's what I was trying to prevent with my hard mode stipulation, but I was at the grocery store at the time and apparently didn't think it through clearly.
