http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20130301-210501-3c368408.htmlSo, here I built a nice Stables/Secret Chamber/Grand Market engine, helped by ambassador for thinning. Now I understand how my engine worked, but I was wondering a few things:
1) How much of what I did was luck? I recognize that the first time I used my Amb I was able to return 2 estates. and I also see that my opponent had his swindler/militia collide the first two times they came up.
2) What did my opponent do wrong? I still need to work on analyzing what my opponent is doing and how it should affect how I should be playing. If he had done something else, would my engine have been as strong? Should he have prioritized swindler over militia? Was there something else I should have done had I read my opponent better? (In this game, I just kind of ignored him. Like I said, something I need to work on).
3) If I had gotten a 4/3 open, what should I have done?
4) Would Stables/secret chamber(vault) be nearly as strong without thinning or grand market? Is this a legitimate combo, or was this game a special case?
Thanks!
