This thread may need a poll soon!

There are 50 movies in the Disney animated canon.  No poll.

Easily Great Mouse Detective. With Sword in the Stone close second.

Here's a great list to refer to to refresh your memory: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_animated_films

No mention of Rescuers Down Under yet? That along with Robin Hood and Wreck-It Ralph are my three favorites in no particular order.

I mentioned Rescuers and Robin Hood. :) Down Under was excellent too. Wreck-It Ralph should be delivered sometime this week.

Wreck-it-Ralph is probably my favorite.

Emperor's New Groove is up there for me. If they count, then virtually everything Pixar's ever made is a favorite. Mulan and Aladdin are terrific, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid. Hercules is awesome and maybe one of their more underrated movies. I loved 101 Dalmations and Pinocchio as a kid but I haven't seen them in forever. I'm a total heathen though because I haven't seen Lion King since I was really really young and I don't really remember it, I am going to right this wrong very soon though.

Interestingly, a couple of my (grown-up) friends actually like Aristocats a lot. And I definitely need to watch Wreck-It Ralph!

We could do a poll if it were limited.  How about - for the next 24 hours, you can nominate one Disney animated movie.  At the end of 24 hours, I put the nominees up in a poll.  Savvy?

Wreck-It Ralph was released today.

I am sad that the DVDs no longer come with bonus features.  I guess the studios really want us to switch to Blu-Ray...

Having only done a quick search through the thread, it doesn't appear as if there's an official answer as to whether or not Pixar movies count.

If they do: Can't decide between Up, Toy Story 3, and Aladdin.

If they don't: You should be able to figure this out based on my previous answer.

I feel like any and all Pixar movies would just win. I know I'd vote for them over just about anything. *listens to Finding Nemo soundtrack*

Although, a separate poll asking about favorite Pixar movies would be pretty great too. In fact, I'm gonna go set that up...

Also, I'm nominating Hunchback of Notre Dame.

As a child, it was hands down The Little Mermaid. I begged my parents to buy me sheets for my bed with LM designs. (I was quite young at the time).

I also loved Lady and the Tramp, as well as The Rescuers (not so much Down Under).

When I was a little older, my favorite was Mulan (still is quite high).

These days, well, I love the songs from Beauty and the Beast more than any other. The character development is more multi-dimensional there than almost any other story.

I did not like Hunchback at all, nor any of the Aladdin movies, I couldn't stand Hercules, nor The Emporer's new Groove. And I especially despised Lilo and Stitch.

Wreck-it-Ralph was surprisingly good, and one that I'm sure I'll watch again... But as a movie and as a story... It doesn't really hold up to some of the earlier Disney pieces.

Mulan is good.  Have you seen the more recent live action Chinese film?

There's a more recent one?  I watched parts of a live action Mulan series many years ago when I was a kid, before Disney ever got a hold of it.
