Not sure I'll be there though. Can't really afford a trip to Birmingham at the moment and I've not played Dominion for months anyway and even when I did I wasn't that good.

I believe you can enter the different game tournaments seperately but there's also a competition for the overall best performer. The real issue for me is that it starts at 10am (registration 9.45), on a Sunday, in a location which is apparently 20 mins walk from the nearest train station, which would already take me 2 trains and probably an hour to get to - and I live in Birmingham!

I'd love to give some competitive dominion a go, but not sure I can face getting up that early. I will definitely be at the Games Expo at some point tho and would be up for some non-tournament games even if I don't make the competition.

Yeah, 9:15 is harsh if I am coming from London that day. 6:30 start? Thats earlier than I get up for work by about 3 hours! (And I start at 9am!)

Train would take me ~5 hours apparently. Luckily I could drive it in 2. I could get free entry to the expo by doing a bit of volunteering but I think the price of hotels is going to stop me from doing this. Anyone know of any bargains?

Birmingham airport Travelodge seems to have rooms for £20-25 over Games Expo weekend at the moment, probably the closest cheap option.

I went last year,one day was enough for me as I didnt sign up for any tournaments or things

\Shame they dont look like they are doing living Munchkin this year

Wow. Three nights (leave on the Monday so I can volunteer the Sunday night for the handing out of leftover stuff) for £61. Plus £7.50 a day for parking still isn't too bad.

If HMRC hurry up with my tax rebate this year (doubt it) and the prices are still that low when I get the money, I might do this.

Airport Hotels generally cheaper at the weekends.

And dont expect anything from the Revenue until late this year I would imagine, some major problems they are having there at the moment with stuff (I work in this field). If you do, consider yourself majorly lucky!

It would take me... 14 minutes on the train and cost £1.90 return for the train. Hmm, this actually seems viable! I might just go.

I'm not used to living near stuff. Normally I see something exciting and I think "That looks cool, can I get to it? ... Okay, so 3 hour train journey costing £30..." etc.

I am likely to be at Manorcon, another UK games convention, that takes place in Leicester in July. Any Dominion tournament there is likely to be unofficial but there will be plenty of other gaming going on.
