I got bored so here's a card idea (It could probably do with a better name, but oh well)

Thicket
Victory: $4
Worth 1VP for every province in the supply.


Pretty much an alternate VP that encourages ending the game by running out piles ASAP. It might have to cost $5, or the concept might just be inherently bad, but I thought it was an interesting idea I had so I decided to post it.

Welcome to the forums.

Not that the idea is bad, I kinda like it and I think something similar was posted already here on the forums, but I like to mention that this card scales very differently depending on the number of players because with 3 players there are 12 instead of 8 Provinces in the supply and of course with more players 3-pile endings are easier to accomplish.

aah I guess that's very true, I can't really think of a way to keep the spirit of the card the same but not have it be so much better in multiplayer games, hmmm

make it worth 8 vp
 - 1vp per province removed from the supply but nor less than 0 vp

so in 3 or 4 playergames where pile endings will go faster, there can be 4 provinces remaining.


i think it needs to cost $5 at minimum.

Potentially 12VP for 4 cost is a little high... What's the max Fairgrounds can reach without Black Market? (11 Kingdom piles, 10 differently named knights, 5 prizes, 5 different named ruins, 3 shelters, madman, mercenary, spoils, 7 standard supply piles, platinum, colony, potion... ???)... That's 46 different named cards in a game without black market, giving fairgrounds a max of 18vp at 6 cost (the average max is probably closer to 6 or 7vp)

Having this card available will either cause very few provinces to be bought, or cause provinces to be bought in defense. Playtesting will tell which is more likely... (Or let the puzzle forum have their way with it...)

If the Province or Colony supply pile is empty (if it was available), then this is worth 4 VP. Otherwise, this is worth 2 VP.

During your Buy phase, if two supply piles are empty, then this costs $3 less (but not less than $0).

Polk5440 tackled this another way and won a spot in the rinkworks contest. It is useful if the game is ending on piles or if it ends with Province depletion.
