It appeared to me that there are a lot of ways to let other players do things out of turn:

- Trash/Gain with Bishop and Governor
- Discard/draw with Vault, Council Room and Governor
- Gain with Saboteur and Governor

I like Governor's idea of "a lot for yourself, a little for the others" so here's a take on it a la Workshop:

Gifter - $5
Action

Gain a card costing up to $5
------------
Each other player may gain a card costing up to $3

So you could get a free Silver, Fishing Village, Scheme, or what have you.

This card is possibly very strong with Minions, Labs, Markets and such because the $3- cards often aren't very good and the $5's often are quite powerful. So it may need some tweaking, but I like the idea of: One for me, one for you (but not as good as the one for me).

I like that Idea. The same could be done with attacks, like:
Gain a Copper. Each other player gains a Curse.

Yeah, the title is at least. I haven't looked at the Grifter topic, but I saw its title in the unread topics list.

It's also a gainer that allows your opponents to gain, but it's quite a bit different (it's an attack, for one)

At any rate I like this card.

Interesting.  Not sure how it would play out.  Turn 3 Platinum for me?  But then everyone else gets a Province or Gold? :P

It's not so great as an attack.  Best you can hope to do is gain a good $2 (or Poor House) to make them pick up Copper, or gain a Copper to Curse them.  I guess the latter is OK for a slog.

Tough to evaluate.  Worth testing, I think.

I would probably reword the second line as

"Each other player gains a cheaper card. Each player that didn't gain a card this way gains a Curse."

Posting your own ideas for feedback without giving feedback on others' ideas? *boo* *hiss* Bad form!  ;)

On topic, though, I very much like the card. I don't think the fact that it's great in most Minion games is a problem at all. If I were testing it, I'd try it at both $4 and $5 price points. $4 might make for very fast games, but in most cases the drawback of the card seems very strong. It's probably a $5 card (or needs tweaking), but testing it at $4 might generate insights.

It's not so great as an attack.

Also fun in Lighthouse games.... Is it worth it to play that Lighthouse to protect yourself from the opponent's Goons, knowing that if you do he might be able to use Open Armory to gain another Goons for free?

Hehe, indeed!

I had thought about making it "worth up to 2 less than the card you gained", but it seemed too wordy for not much added value.

I don't think it is much of a problem. Another player could gain a power $5, golem, familiar, goons, harem, etc.
