Your hand has only 3 cards (you put 2 coppers back on top due to Ghost ship): Dame Molly (the +2 actions one), Embassy, Altar.
This Embassy is the only serious draw in the game, you got it out of the black market deck.

You start with the knight (hits nothing) and then the million dollar question: what card do you play next?
It's a league game and if you get this one right you may well make it to the finals! (thank god it turned out not to matter after all)

Ladies and gentlemen, the next time you lose a game due to an incredibly dumb misclick, don't feel so bad. Even the greatest Dominion player in the world sometimes misclicks.

Two thoughts happened at the same time, without intersecting:

"I'm going to Prince a Bridge, so I can Prince more expensive things!"

"I should get an Apprentice to get rid of these Estates!"

It took until the third Estate to figure out why the Apprentice was only drawing one card.

... ajmiam reveals a Trader to gain a Silver instead of a Cache.

I think this speaks for itself.

Opponent: Plays Swindler
Flip5ide: Trashes a Platinum
Flip5ide: Gains a Platinum
Flip5ide: Reveals Trader to gain a Silver instead

You had enough money in hand for the last Colony already, you'd had 4s swindled into Feoda, this put you over a new level, and the points were relevant? I really am impressed.

Code: [Select]
Chapel, Hamlet, Apothecary, Swindler, Conspirator, Treasure Map, Cache, Council Room, Counting House, Stables
http://gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150214/log.516df219e4b082c74d7ce4ed.1423965369675.txt

My turn 6:

"Okay, I'll play my Hamlet... discard a Copper for an extra action... okay, now I'll use the Chapel to trash a Curse, and then I'll play my Swindler."

*clicks Chapel*

*clicks Curse*

*clicks Swindler*

"NO! My Swindler!!!"

Thing is, I now think trashing that Swindler was actually the RIGHT move. Having done so, I felt I was pretty much forced to go for Treasure Maps, which I should've done in the first place. And I went on to win big.

Greatest Dominion misclicks, indeed.  ;D

And...as the distracted opponent during all of this...I must say that I approve of this post and in fact insisted that Trojan Horse post this here.

So I encourage everybody who knows everything to tell me exactly how and how badly I effed this up to get to the sad result that ensued. Needless to say, some of it was probably due to shock on my part. But more of it was due to the fact that I suck (and that's the variance component I'm after here) and some of it due to the bold misclick mentioned above.

DG: turn 1
DG   plays 4 Copper
DG   buys Sea Hag

Stef: turn 1
Stef   plays 5 Copper
Stef   buys Mountebank

oooooh 5-2 opening for a mountebank that's so pretty.
A bit heartless to be happy about it but in this worldcup match I'll just take the win and count my blessings.

...

Stef: turn 3
Stef   plays Hamlet
Stef   draws Copper
Stef   discards Mountebank
Stef   receives one buy

It's not a misclick, but today I learned the valuable lesson that a BoM-based golden deck won't seem like such a good idea when the Bishops run out.

It was going so smoothly! Luckily my strategy was trash-then-gain rather than gain-then-trash, so I already had all the treasure I needed for a Province every turn when my golden deck lost its golden-ness.

Did you also manage to travel back in time to 2013 as well? If so, that's super-cool!!

My hand was something like GGSCVenture.  I didn't want to cycle with Venture, so naturally I hit End Turn.

Princing Jack of all Trades is generally not very good in most games, because drawing to 5 only helps after hand reducing attacks and it depends heavily on the question if you want so much silver.

But the biggest problem is that you keep trashing cards which you wanted to play at the start of your turn.
Wait where is my familiar...  :o

Three points behind.  One Province and no Duchies left.  I have $7 and Swindler....which hit Province.

Not a misclick but bad enough we'll let it slide.

Tie game. On turn 21, my opponent has the $4 necessary to win the game by buying the last remaining Duchy (he had played a Highway and Minions and Peddlers were out)... he threw in a Swindler just for the heck of it and it hit my Peddler, giving me a Province.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure Swindler has appeared 5 times in the last 10 posts. Honestly I wouldn't think there would be many misclicks with it.

I mean, you can't do so many misclicks with swindler. I think the one of Tombolo was bad luck, but he had to play the Swindler. The one of your opponent was only bad play. He should not play the Swindler, because there was the chance of hitting the Province and he didn't need to play it.

I don't think there's relatively much to misclick with Swindler.

Easiest cards to mess up doing?

Oh, you totally can. Just open double Swindler or whatever, hit a Shelter on turn 3, see that very attractive blue + button on the Curse pile and spend your $5 hand on a Curse. It's that easy!

There was one game I was livestreaming where I was planning on using Coin tokens to get Grand Markets, but I kept hitting "Play Treasures" instead of "Use Coin token".

Not miss-clicks but I have a couple of times tried to be too clever for my own good when attempting to end games.

Game 1
I had a slight lead and there was 1 province remaining. Unfortunately I only had 6 to spend. I then had the bright idea that I could buy Farmland, trash the province in my hand and gain the last province that way :-[. My opponent bought that last province on his next turn and won.

Game 2.
I spotted a way I could cause a three pile ending to end the game. I started thinking how many provinces, duchies and estates I had bought and how many my opponent had bought. I calculated if I ended the game I would win by 1 point. I lost. My calculations regarding how many provinces, duchies and estates my opponent and myself had in their deck were correct. What I had not considered was that Knights were on the table and my opponent had Dame Josephine in his deck.
