My friends made the animation for me so I guess after typing in over 200 card names, I was bound to get one wrong.  It's unfortunate though.

I would simply ask for a re-render of the video, but it took almost a week of non-stop processing to complete it.  Hopefully, it will not deter anyone from pledging!
It won't deter me, this looks real neat!

Possibly you mean really neat?  :)

I'm from the Midwest region of the US.  Anybody also from there will back me up real fast, that we really use real as an adverb.  It's real fun, and you should try it.

Hey, I'm from Ohio, I get it.  Just poking fun, given you had JUST slammed them for a misspelling.

Yes, the context garnered the upvote :)

Just wondering, but what's the big space with a white thing in the middle? It looks like a space for kitchen roll, which I'm sure isn't right... I guess it's for coins/VP tokens etc.?

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Yes; that slot will fit the game tokens.  I will be producing a token case that fits the slot, but you can also just dump stuff in it.  The link above will show the layout.

Maybe this comes too late, but it would be nice to store Curses in piles of 10, so as to more quickly take the appropiate number for the number of players you have.

I will have to check with my manufacturer as to what sort of minor modifications we can make.  I'll get back to you after I find out.

I am so glad you asked.  Yes!  There are two versions of the case: one for sleeved cards, which has slots for Kingdom cards measure 6.4cm x 0.8cm.

and one for unsleeved cards.

I have submitted the project to Kickstarter.  You can check out the video here:

In a few days, the project will be live after Kickstarter approves it.

I see that the new Kickstarter page you're working on will have the Sleeved-card case as a reward.  I somehow missed that the first Kickstarter page only had that as a reach-goal.

Do you have an ETA on when the new Kickstarter project will be up?

In other news, the smaller workshop case to bring some but not all cards along to a potential gaming night is a brilliant idea.  Will this reward be offered in a sleeved-cards version?

The new project will launch as soon as Kickstarter approves it.  I don't think they work over the weekend, so it will probably get approved tomorrow.

I made a mistake not offering it right away.  I was trying to keep the funding goal low but I realize I alienated people.  The new project should fix this.  My apologies.

I have discovered that it is difficult to make good strategic decisions when I am the only one running the project.  I do not really have anyone to bounce ideas off of.  I also do not have access to any market analytics to know how popular sleeved vs. unsleeved cards are.

Let me pose this question to anyone on this thread: is it worthwhile to do two version (sleeved and unsleeved)?  I really don't know how many people do one or the other with their Dominion games.

Thanks!

The smaller case being offered as a reward is actually an early prototype I was working on and it fits both sleeved and unsleeved.  When designing it, I wanted to have a single case that could support both types of players.  The slots are big enough to fit sleeved cards, but if you put in unsleeved cards, there is just a lot of unused space.  This is part of the reason I made two versions for the new case--each version will snugly fit the cards.

I exclusively play with sleeved cards.  I suppose some people don't want to bother with the trouble of sleeving them, possibly more casual players.  But then again, I'm not sure how many casual players will either a) be on these forums, or b) be looking for a storage solution for all expansions.  Those are my thoughts.

Agreed.  If you care enough about Dominion to buy a case for all cards that's as thought out as this one, you most probably sleeve.

I don't sleeve the cards and would buy a case if I had the opportunity. In case anyone is interested, I basically don't sleeve the cards because the effort of doing so does not match the benefits of game preserving. If I played so much so as to damage the cards in a noticeable way, I'd be happy to buy a new set of cards and the money was well spent.

If some store offered the service of sleeving them for me and the price was reasonable, I would do it. I understand it eases up shuffling, is that right?

I think there are players out there who do not sleeve their cards.  Maybe after spending $40-50 bucks on eight games, they get sick of spending and do not want to buy 3,000 sleeves.  Or the effort to do it is just not worth it.

I think I will stick with offering both cases.

Part of the challenge was keeping the case small enough to be shipped for as cheap as possible while still fitting all the cards in.  The sleeved version of the case doesn't quite have enough room for the base card set.  So I am wondering: do people just buy two base card sets and completely replace the existing treasure/victory cards, or do people use them to supplement the existing cards?

Personally, I don't have the Base Cards, and I'm not sure I ever will.  The cards out of the main set and Intrigue are playable, even if they aren't pretty.  That and I also have the German version of Dominion, so I don't really need a 4th set of those cards :)

I posted the new project.  It has sleeved and unsleeved cases available as rewards.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/valta/the-unofficial-dominion-case-for-sleeved-and-unsle

As of now, we are about 7% funded.
