Outlaws variant

How about a variant where existing cards can be bought at 1 coin cheeper than normal but if for any reason they are revealed by any other player will result to the player gaining 1 curse token. In effect, these cards are bought by the player through a black market (not the promotional card) and are considered contrabanded (not the card).

The thing is, the curse effect counts when the card is revealed or discarded and not when it is used by the player as an Action or as part of a Buy. Thus a Hidden Village for example can be like a plain Village, only it costs 2 coins instead of 3. When you use it, it has no negative effect but if it is revealed by another card (like Thief) then the cursing takes place and you gain 1 curse token.

This variant has as a result the players not using cards that may lead to revealing their hands or their next cards in the deck and also head for cards that reveal the other players' hands and decks.

Well, keeping track of things like that would be completely impossible in real life, and things like hunting party would be effectively banned.

Well, how would you be able to remember that you bought this card via outlaw, and this card some other way, through a shuffle? Also cards like hunting party will reveal most of your entire deck, cursing you multiple times.

I think the idea is that as well as your ten kingdom supply piles (or instead of some of them?), you also use *unspecified number* additional piles and all cards from these piles are the "Outlaw Cards" that can be bought for cheaper but can cause cursing. If you are playing a Hunting pary deck, you won't buy Outlawed cards because that's in the same category of stupid as playing a Golem-Double Tactician deck or making your opponent King's Court a Posession while you are Possessing them.

I was talking about cards that are NEW and not in an extra pile like what happens with Bane or Black Market. Like a whole new expansion. And yes it would be stupid to have Hunting Party in such games, or Loan, Adventurer, Golem, and so on. As I said they are suposed to be games that sacrifice going through your deck faster, for lowered prises.
