2012 Elite Eight Bracket
« on: January 14, 2013, 09:34:12 am »

Here is the bracket for the Division Finals of the 2012 DominionStrategy.com championships: http://dominionstrategy.challonge.com/2012finals

(These are overall bracket seed #'s, not divisional seeds)

Full rules can be found here: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=5686.0

Each round, you are responsible for finding your opponent and scheduling a game by the end of the week. You may mutually agree to any rules you wish to play by. If you cannot agree you must play with the default rules as follows: veto mode off, identical starting hands on, official point counter on, fully random sets, point counter extension allowed.

The first player in the first game is decided by whichever player is 'higher' in the Challonge bracket. To accomplish this, begin a game in the tournament lobby and select the player who is to play first. After that game, you may both move to the Secret Chamber lobby (but don't exit Isotropic!) and the player to play first will be the loser of the previous game.

If you have trouble scheduling, please message me and I will attempt to work it out.

Good luck and have fun!

The first player in the first game is decided by whichever player is 'higher' in the Challonge bracket. For round one, this means the higher seed will play first.

I'm guessing this doesn't apply to "round one" here, does it? (Not that it matters for me anyway since I would be going last no matter what.)

Current Isotropic Leaderboard Rankings

Stef - 1
Wandering Winder - 2
Obi Wan Bonogi - 4
Mic Qsenoch - 5
lespeutere - 6
HiveMindEmulator - 20
ednever - 66
dondon151 - 101

Since it was pretty obvious that some players had been out of practice and had not been playing Iso very much at the time of the initial seedings, I thought it might be interesting to see where the 8 remaining players were currently ranked overall. Seems like order has been restored.

This, but with HME taking bronze. (This prediction is entirely based on my personal records against each. >_>)

Besides USA-Canada jokes, for which I have nothing to say about, Canada IS an American country, therefore canadians are americans, as are citizens of the rest of the continent. I'm not sure if there is a different english word to denominate only USA citizens or people born in the USA, at least Wikipedia also lists American as the demonym.

North American Surely?
And then only Americans if you are including both North and South America continents, which is unlikely.

North American Surely?

That would still include Canadians (and Mexicans, but is irrelevant to the original point) besides US people.

And then only Americans if you are including both North and South America continents, which is unlikely.

I've never seen such a thing. I've seen America as continent, and also North/Central/South America as 3 contintents, but never only two. In any case, an American is an individual born or a citizen of any country of North/Central/South America.

Back on topic, the sumary for the rules should specify that the final is going to be played with preset kingdoms, right?

EDIT: Or at least state "every round before the final ..." instead of just "every round".

I thought the point was we were trying to find a way of including Canadians in with Americans? (I was not answering you question about American Domiciles and residents)

Not quite sure where you were taught, but somebody has been feeding you wrong information. Central America is DEFINITELY not a continent, never has been. It is a geographical region that is part of North America. To have never been told this is amazing and makes me worry about the school system. (you only have to google image search 'North America to see this as well)

I suppose you could argue for Sub-Continent, but that's merely a political label (usually referring to India or the Middle East)

At least India is about as seperated from Asia as Europe is geographically, so I wouldn't call this completely political.

Well, it was originally used to determine British holdings to separate it from the rest of the wild untamed lands of Asia as far as I was aware. But yes it does handily split away.

On the other hand, seperating Europe from Asia is of course also mostly politically motivated...

Yes. Fair enough. Seattle. Also in a relationship with an American (a cute one).
I'm very much like an Anerican. I just like to use the word "toque".
