Dark Ages first results

I programmed a few Dark Ages cards into my simulator (not published so you'll have to trust me):

Cultist: The Cultist BM deck beats the Big Money Ultimate benchmark 82-13 which isn't as strong as Witch BM (94-4). The simulator suggests to buy at least 3 Cultists over Gold.

Marauder: Marauder BM beats the BM benchmark 60-32 which is a far cry from Sea Hag which destroys the standard BM 96-2. The simulator suggests to buy only 1 Marauder (not 2 like Sea Hag).

I wonder how much worse Curses are than Ruins.  Is there an easy way to compare them in general?

Well as long Geronimoo is implementing the new cards, he could also implement a "Ruins Witch" or a "Cursing Cultist" to see how it compares.

The Ruins Witch wins 62-30 vs BM (Normal Witch is 94-4)

Geronimoo, does your BMU script make use of Ruins that it's fed?

BM+Single witch vs BM+Single Cultist makes for a pretty reasonable comparison.

In my IRL experience, Ruins end up significantly less painful than curses.

Yes, the Ruins are played as expected.

Sorry to ask but how long will it take to program all DA cards ? I'm so impatient...  :)

I'd guess quite some time... Dark Ages has a lot of cards, and a lot of those cards are complex and involve breaking previous assumptions about how the game works.

I would find some feedback on sage quite interesting. I have a suspicion that it is worse than silver in many decks.

Personally, I'd be happy to see the next release of the simulator comes without procession, band of misfits, etc. if those cards are going to perplex an AI.

I'm guessing Sage will be good when there's no trashing, and when all the cards you actually want cost $3 or more.  Oh, and in Vineyards games.

Sage is good for getting to your curser quicker.

Query - how does Hunting Grounds + BM hold up to Smithy + BM?

I've been saying people are overrating sage for a while now. I think it'll be good when you have a powerful open like sea hag or ambassador and maybe in mountebank/witch games. But overall it will be quite mediocre. Now I just need some data to back me up.

Oh also, if you are playing single cultist, you are probably doing it wrong. Cultist makes up for ruins being worse than curses with the self chaining. I'm not sure what will be optimal, but optimal cultist/BM will probably only be a little worse than optimal witch/BM.

Yes, the Ruins are played as expected.

What's the hierarchy for ruins? Will the bot go for buy, card or coin given the choice?

From personal experience, I think 4 is the sweet spot. Not 3

I have a hard time believing that. There aren't that many ruins in the pile. The 4th Cultist is likely to not even get to attack. So you're just getting something between a Lab and a Moat, which might not even be better than Silver, let alone Gold.

In a Cultist mirror, 3 Cultists may not even be optimal. 3 Cultists are optimal when the Ruins pile is uncontested.

OUCH!  Watch where you are walking!

I'm gliding here!

In all seriousness, I would like to know how the simulations do with Hunting Grounds BM.

That one seems pretty strait forward... prefer Hunting Grounds once your deck has an average of more than $.75 per card, because at that point a Hunting Grounds will be slightly better than Gold. Of course there's also increase cycling with HG, which my guess is that that's a bad thing, because by the time you are buying them, you'll also be adding green to your deck.
