Should we have a separate subforum for bad beats and crazy luck?

Poker forums seem to do this pretty often, so the people surfing the main forums don't have to wade through piles of WTF I LOST POKET ACES TO 36 OFF >:( to get to the real strategy discussion, while people who want to commiserate about tragedy and boggle at absurdity can do so.

Game Reports isn't so active that we need such a split, but I think it'd be nice to have. Thoughts?

Poker forums tend to develop a culture around those subforums that I'd rather not see replicated, though. :s

I'll wholeheartedly second this notion.

Do you think we'd have a separate community that just comes on f.ds to bitch even though they dont even play the game ever? It would be kind of hilarious.

And yes, I do agree we don't need a forum like that. Would be kind of stupid I think.

If they don't play the game ever, how would they know about the site?

No, I'm not saying that poker players (that have never played Dominion) or anyone else that has never played Dominion, would come on to this site just to bitch about luck.  I'm saying that I would prefer to keep such a "bad beat" subculture from arising here, regardless of who populates that subculture.  Because it is human nature to complain about "bad luck", I suspect that there are a number of folks who frequent this site (but don't currently post) that would latch on to this universal part of human nature, and post in such threads, but nowhere else.  The quality of discourse would deteriorate, and the quality of the site would be lessened overall. I just don't see any good coming of it.

In fairness, I acknowledge that this may just be cynicism on my part.

I was thinking more about the culture of berating people for their complaints within the approved-complaint space, and general trolling and tomfoolery arising from that.

But yeah, what you said, too.

To be fair, if we had such a forum, I'd wager that most games reported would not be bad luck so much as bad play.

I seem to get a lot more bad luck when I play at 3AM. I wonder if there's a connection?
