« on: December 06, 2012, 07:33:25 am »

I'd really like to play this over the forums, but alas I have no time to moderate.

Anyone care to moderate or play?

The game: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/40692/small-world
There are a lot of expansions for it, so we'd have to agree on the format, but I'll let any potential moderator decide.

I'm very tempted to offer to mod...

But then I'd basically be the mod equivalent of Robz...

If there's no taker within a few days, I'll moderate.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

That's great news, maybe it'll convince some people to join in advance.

I'm curious how this would be handled. I presume a jpg of the map with each region being numbered?  I suppose the die-rolling would be kind of easy with COs. "I attack region 14 from region 9 with my last move. If the reinforcement die fails, I move one unit back to 14 and one unit to 18."

Berserk would be a bit of a pain, though. I suppose the player could tell you which regions he wants to focus on and then have the mod roll the die for each one. If the player still has units left, he can give another CO.

It's certainly intriguing. Not sure that I'm in, though. I may just watch this one.

Don't worry. If I moderate I'll make sure everything is sorted.

There is a Small World VASSAL Module which seems really good, so I could probably moderate. But I don't know the game very good, because I only played once a few years ago and I would rather play ;)

I dont think it would be a problem in this game for the mod to play himself.

Yes, pardon the imprecision.  It seems to download at a much slower speed than other stuff.  It was only 18 MB, and my computer estimated 8 minutes.  I'll try it again.

No, probably not, since there is no hidden information that needs to be sent and received.
You could do everything in the topic itself, you don't even need PMs.

You just need 1 person updating the Vassal map.

Rolls, but as with GoF I trust the people here.

Hey I was trying to work out how to do things like Galaxy Trucker on here before my housemate told me to stop being stupid, this is an obvious choice in comparison :P.

If you all agree. Fine. But I won't mod a game until I'm in my Christmas holidays. And this is next week. Until you have to wait.

Might we get another Pandemic at that point?

Please?

Pretty please?

Well, I've seen this be played as PBF on BGG and thought it would be fun.

The game isn't "leveraged" or made better through PBF, but it's a fun game and I'd like to play a session.

No response....
Is this either because
  • no one is interested in playing?
  • no one is currently interested in playing?
  • you don't care about the setup?

Sorry yes, I'm interested in playing, not fussed about the setup, Base seems good because that's all I've played with.
