Outpost, 2xJack, some FVs.

Opponent did something similar, except incorporated Markets, presumably for the +buy.  I think that was too slow?  Not sure, as I like +buy.

You sure it's not better to open Jack/nothing and the Outpost at the next $5 hand? There's like no way you're going to be able to anything with your first Outpost turn besides just cycle the 3 cards.

Well, if your outpost turn is 3x copper then you can buy a fishing village or a silver. Takes a little luck though. Neither of you got it.

Nope, not sure.  But if I don't hit $3 on the Outpost turn, the cycling doesn't hurt (in my case it caused me to pass by two estates).

But if you bought Jack first, then you would have gained a Silver (and possibly trashed an Estate) instead of just cycling 3 cards.

You will also cycle 2 cards (one from the reveal/discard, and one from the draw back up to 5).

Agreed and agreed.  So I'm concluding here that Outpost wasn't bad, but Jack would be better?

Yeah, I like your overall strategy, it's just the opening that doesn't make sense.
