How many golds can you gain?

You play one card (no Kc, Tr, Procession, Golem or Band of Misfits) and resolve it. What is the maximum number of gold you can gain from playing a single card?

My best shot is:
22

Challenge:
Find a second play that let's you hit 22

One card including autoplays? TR-Golem counts as 2?

24 is trivial, with Storeroom and 12 Tunnels.

I'll assume a 2P game

63 Golds.  Which is more than the entire pile.

Have a hand of Forge, 10xCultist, 20xRats, 2xOvergrown Estate, 10xMarket Square, 1x Watchtower.  Have an empty deck/discard otherwise.

Forge the Cultists, Rats, and Overgrown Estates.  Reveal all 10 MS.  Trash Gained Golds with Watchtower.  Continue this process of drawing and revealing MS all 52 times.  Gain 62 Golds.

If you drop the price of Gold to $0, then you could even Forged all of those into a Gold, for a 63rd.

This does not work as you are not gaining golds, just trashing them.

Hrmm. Storeroom, should have recalled that. Can anyone beat the trivial case?

They are gained, they just don't remain in the deck.

Alright.  Same process gives 40 Golds without the Watchtower. You'll discard 10 MS, leaving a discard pile of 10 MS + 10 Gold.  We'll be getting 52 draws total here.  Draw all 20, discard the MS.  Draw all 20, discard the MS. Draw 10 MS, discard them.  This gives 40 Golds.  2 Draws aren't used, so we don't need to assume that you were Masq'd an Overgrown Estate.
