Play a Possession on your possession hand so your opponent can take your crappy hand.

Hey, I have done that once! I went to CouncilRoom in the search of that log, but there were too many games with Possession in them and I didn't have the time to look through all of them.

However, I looked through a couple of them. It appears to be that I have been having way too much fun. I am sorry for my opponents, especially those involved in games with KC, Wharf and Ambassador.

I actually do this, like, all the time. Probably too much.

Without ever getting a Potion, I'd like to trash a Squire into a Familiar and Expand the Familiar into a Possession.

Picking up a Scout to Ambassador it like you would a curse.

This isn't the same thing, but there was an online game I was playing against an IRL friend. We were chatting on Skype. He played a Young Witch, and I had bane in hand (Smugglers). He knew that whatever he bought, I would be able to smuggle from him. The way it worked out, the only thing he felt comfortable buying was a Scout, since it helped his deck at the time more than mine. This happened multiple times during the game, and he lamented his luck on the Skype call.

BTW, if I wanted to find that game, I know my opponent's name, and three of the kingdom piles involved. Is there a way on CR to search for games matching those criteria?

Unless he was absolutely sure for some reason that you had no other terminals, buying something useful for both could have been ok too, so to "force" you to play your terminal Smugglers just to make things "even".

Another option would be to buy a Smugglers or some other terminal so that you start having collisions and make your cost of Smuggling higher.

Playing a Forge with enough Highways in play to gain something useful without trashing anything.

On that note, building a deck that can play 4 Highways and then 6-8 Workshops or Ironworks quickly enough for it to be worthwhile.

(I feel like Scrying Pool or Madman wants to be involved here for draw, but not sure exactly what's ideal in terms of villages. Possibly University?)

Heavy trashing, University, SP, Highway, KC to help with the Workshop/IW.

I proudly present:
*drumroll
The Troyan Horse Trick (yeah, that's a real pet)
Required:
1) Tournament
2) Masquerade
3) Minion or Pillage
4) lots of Spies and Scrying Pools
5) Swindler
(6) Horse Traders for better flavour)

Instructions:
1) get a Trusty Steed.
2) pass Trusty Steed to the opponent with Masquerade
3) make the opponent discard Trusty Steed with Minion or Pillage
4) use Spies/SPs to get Trusty Steed to the top of your opponents deck
5) play Swindler to turn the Trusty Steed into a Curse
6) Enjoy!

I have turned Trusty Steed and Princess into Curses and had my Followers turned into Curses with Swindler, all on the same game. Absolutely crazy.

Hmm, I once trashed a Province for no benefit with Upgrade because that way I had $8 for the last Province.
But does that really count as "no benefit"?

I would like to try the Market Square/Hermit/Madman trick once as I have no clue how it works (I read the article but forgot most of it) and would like to know how it holds in up in an actual game.

It definitely wins if your opponent doesnt know about it.

According to gokologs.drunkensailor.org, I'm 14-2 with Hermit + Market Square in the kingdom (I played the first few weeks with Base + DA only, so it came up much more frequently than it does nowadays), and one of the losses was a computer crash.

An example game: http://dom.retrobox.eu/?/20130505/log.505d732a51c359e6597efeb8.1367772565558.txt

The second or third time I pulled it off my opponent went ahead to announce in public chat how he had just played a cheater ;D

I just noticed a game where both players knew the combo. It ends in a three-pile in that case: http://dom.retrobox.eu/?/20130505/log.508ae4c20cf264ac914cc446.1367783822767.txt

Buy Sir Martin and Goons from the Black Market deck.

Set up KC-KC-Scheme-Scheme-Sir Martin-Goons to buy 8 Coppers for 8 VP each turn while attacking hard.

(6) Horse Traders for better flavour)

3) make the opponent discard Trusty Steed with Minion or Pillage
Your opponent reveals, and sets aside, a Horse Traders from their hand, thereby having four cards in hand, thereby being unaffected by the attack.

I think I've tried this once. It was on ISO, so there was on Feoda.

1. Buy Embargoes, Traders and +buy.

2. Embargo the curses repeatedly

3. Buy curses with trader in hand

4. Gain a bunch of silvers
