Does this forum need subforums?  Pro: more organization.  Con: more separation and less community.

I would like a sub forum for the Annual Forum Games awards if thats ok?
Otherwise it will end up spamming different polls in here

Certainly.  Is it Forum Games Awards or just Mafia Awards?

It might be nice if there was a "Finished Game" forum where all the games that are finished can be moved to and the main area here is just active games?

I don't think a finished games forum is necessary, since there are no posts in those anymore, so they drop to the end anyway.
We're currently just a bit over the point where all active games are on the front page, and I think that it's better to have seperate forums for Mafia and other games if it's impossible to see all active games on one page anyway.

Yeah, I was considering splitting it between Mafia and Non-Mafia (which would incl. Resistance).  But then what would be in the main Forum Games forum?

Yeah, I was considering splitting it between Mafia and Non-Mafia (which would incl. Resistance).  But then what would be in the main Forum Games forum?

It would take a little more control, but the main forum could be used as a launching pad for games of all types. If you have all the ideas/signups go there, it would increase visibility on "open for signups" games, while providing a place for new games (of all types) to be proposed. After a game reaches capacity, it can be moved into the appropriate subforum.

Naaah, keep all games in the same forum! That way there will be some spillover.

I like the idea moving finished ones out, mostly so its easy for people to find them again.

I agree with Ozle, spillover between games is great.  But we can move old games out if needed.

I think it might be time for this. Between games in progress, and games open for signups there are like 20 threads with activity in them today, and it's getting a bit cluttered.

In the interest of this, I've changed the 1st post to reflect only Mafia games.

I like the idea of spillover, but this really is getting unmanageable...

Here are the proposals:

1) Existing Forum becomes "meta-" forum, for V/LA, Game Index, etc. threads and "open for signups".  Create Mafia and Non-Mafia subforum.

2) Existing Forum becomes Non-Mafia / meta-forum, with a Mafia subforum.

3) Existing Forum becomes Mafia / meta-forum, with a Non-Mafia subforum.

4) Status quo

5) [open to suggestions]

The status quo is fine with me. But I live on the "New Replies to Your Posts" section of f.ds, so I don't really care.

Of the options you have I like 1 the best.

My proposal which would probably require a lot of work (but I'm sure alot of us would be willing to help)

Forum Games -- Contains sign-ups and the pins meta stuff what have you
Ongoing -- Subforum containing on going games after sign ups have filled once the game starts
Completed -- Subforum with the backcatalog of games, nice to have the back catalog but it probably doesn't need to be mixed in with everything even if once in a blue moon they still get posted to.

Alternately if the main area still has sign ups and the game moves to mafia/non mafia once it starts that would be ok too.

Edit: Nevermind that last bit as that was included in 1
