Best target for King's Court

Obviously, depends on the kingdom, but as a whole, what do you think? I'm not counting King's Court as an option because that will pretty much always be the best target as long as there is another action as well, and worthless if there isn't. A brief overview of why each option is on the list:

Bridge: Buy a whole lot of good stuff to build your deck.
Hunting Party: Lots more cards and actions in your hand, and most likely you have whatever cards in your deck you wanted.
Mountebank: Often means goodbye to your opponent.
Possession: Who wouldn't want 3 extra turns in a row?
Rabble: Lots of cards in hand; likely 3 dead cards on top of your opponent's deck.
Saboteur: So much for your opponent's deck.
Scheme: Start every turn with 6 cards, 3 actions, and your most powerful card in hand? Yes please.

I left off Witch and Torturer because I figure Mountebank is better most of the time.

Bridge: Buy a whole lot of good stuff to build your deck.
Bleh. I find it cheap to KC-KC-Bridge-Bridge-Bridge and then empty the Provinces. Maybe because I've just never done it.

Hunting Party: Lots more cards and actions in your hand, and most likely you have whatever cards in your deck you wanted.
I'd usually rather KC my final action of my Hunting Party stack, than an actual Hunting Party.

Mountebank: Often means goodbye to your opponent.
Call me evil, but this one is fun...as long as you aren't on the receiving end of the attack. Just got to hope they don't have a Watchtower.

Possession: Who wouldn't want 3 extra turns in a row?
Same with Mountebank, but a lot harsher. A lot more fun if you are dishing it out.

Rabble: Lots of cards in hand; likely 3 dead cards on top of your opponent's deck.
9 cards is nice, I like to KC-KC-Rabble, draw a bunch of cards, KC another KC, another Rabble etc.. Fun and hurts your opponent, just not too much.

Saboteur: So much for your opponent's deck.
This is why Saboteur shouldn't exist.

Scheme: Start every turn with 6 cards, 3 actions, and your most powerful card in hand? Yes please.
A bit 'meh' for me. Can be very powerful in an engine with KCs to spare, otherwise I'd rather use it on my engine pieces.

I voted for Mountebank, mainly from some good times IRL.

Well it does make Provinces the cheapest they can ever be ;)

I almost always veto King's Court, so I have to ask:  If you KC a bridge, are there 3 price reductions?

If so, why are there not 3 price reductions when you KC a highway?

Please note the wording differences between Bridge and Highway. Bridge's price reduction is dependent on you playing it (as most abilities are), whereas Highway (and Princess) are dependent on being in play. If you King's Court a Highway, you've played it three times, but it's only in play once.

Bridge says "All cards cost $1 less this turn."
Highway says "While this is in play, all cards cost $1 less."

So Bridge's cost reduction is part of the effect of playing the action, while Highway's cost reduction is the result of it sitting on the table.  Thus, KC can triple Bridge but not Highway.

KC'ing a Trusty Steed is pretty nice.

Also KC+Coppersmith is awesome in the right situation.

Another King's Court, of course!   8)

(Okay, eventually you have to do something else.  But really, come on, you know it's true.)

Menagerie.

It's so pretty when you get to draw the full 9 cards with it.

Also: Harvest for $12.

This reminds me of when a friend of mine thought that KC-Shanty Town draws 6 cards if you reveal a hand with no Actions. That's true, but you have to reveal after every play of Shanty Town...

Needless to say, that engine didn't come together.

A fully grown City?
A full grown City only gives you +3Actions over a pretty standard Market, and with King's Court, the one thing you usually don't lack is actions. At least as soon as there is a Cantrip around.

I also vote for King's Court.  But next is hard.  Grand Market is usually not that convincing, +3cards+3action+$6+3buys is fine and all that, but it is just +$6, and there are more insane things to do.  I'd say Bridge > Coppersmith.  Of course it needs some help, but there is plenty of draw, and there are plenty of +buys (for the CS), and drawing your whole deck (and keeping some Coppers for CS) is not that hard on a KC board, and this two easily give you the equivalent of +7-8$x3 per play, and are stackable. Bridge also gives buys, and does not need to keep Copper, so it wins, CS needs the buys from somewhere else, but getting 5buys for 5Provinces for the win is usually not that hard, and with all these, it also works good.

City would follow a "draw your deck" approach, the money would have to come from other sources. Grand Market would be better if those sources are not plentiful enough, and Harvest if you are desparate for money. A "draw your deck" strategy would normally require spare actions to continue, and while it is correct that spare actions are not the problem with KC, they don't come by itself if you insist playing your KC with a Bridge.

Long story short, if I had a King's Court, a Bridge, and a maxed-out City in hand, I'd probably rather play KC-City-Bridge than City-KC-Bridge before playing whatever I drew with City.

I think my reasoning was more along the lines of uniqueness.

Of course, for your KC-Bridge(Coppersmith) to work, you need some means to draw your deck, and for this, you need some other card. But there are plenty of them, be it Lab, City, Wharf, Councilroom, Smithy, Nobles, etc. pp., some of them with support from Villages or KCed-Cantrips, but as said, there are many of them and which one you take does not really matter. But cards which really give a high payoff in terms of coins are not so common.

My most loved KCed action in recent times was btw. the KCed Mint, which gained 3 HoP, which became Provinces the same turn...

I was thinking of the best target of KC in a five-card hand, not in a 16-card hand. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

KC->Wharf is not bad: +12 cards +6 buys over two turns.  Possession is probably better in most cases...but it depends on your opponents deck.  KC Wharf is just so much fun to do!

I like KC-Wharf in an engine especially... it's fun because the first time you play it, if you didn't already have spare actions, you will probably have a pretty lame turn... drawing a bunch of actions that you can't play. But, once you do play that, every turn after that you can do crazy stuff.

Personally, (at least in Colony games) my favorite target has been Merchant Ship. Especially when you have good trashing available via Chapel or Mint.
