You probably would have liked a Library or two over Gold.

My plan was to play library or tribute (and when he started trashing, definitely library), but I never drew 5 (until it was time for duchies). Bm-enabler as weak as library over gold if it's the end of a shuffle and you don't have one yet?

On average, your Library will be drawing about as much $ as a Gold (if not more), and it goes through 3 cards of your deck.

I think the problem here is that you don't know that you won't get any $5s. Maybe one could have tracked the deck better, but how many Libs do you want? Probably 2. So maybe one over Gold is acceptable anyway.

But it's a bit like I saw the deck and for a second thought "A Woodcutter in T2 would not have been a mistake over BigMoney". Yes, it wouldn't, but at this point you didn't know that it will turn out to be BM-nothing, but probably thought it will be BM-Lib. Where you don't want the WC probably. And as you get all these $6s, you don't know that the next hands will be $4s, so you take the Gold in the hope that you will get the Lib next turn...

I don't think that when MrEevee was buying his 4th and 5th Golds, he was banking on drawing $5 the next turn for a Library.

Your analogy doesn't hold, either. If your objective is to hit $5 for Library and/or Tribute, then Woodcutters are dead when you draw them in the same hand as those other, presumably better, Actions.

Turn 12 should be library I think.
Its just before a shuffle.
No idea if its right, but I might have taken a few mid game wishing wells.

Have to say that looks... bleak

I think I like a turn 7 Library instead of Gold here. Two Libraries isn't the end of the world so if you hit five before the next reshuffle another can still be picked up.

oh wow. Yeah, you do want at least a library. The thing is...you really didn't have much of a chance to pick up one besides turn 7.

You don't have to have exactly $5 to buy Library. By turn 5, when you buy your second Gold, your average coin value of the cards in your deck is already over $1, so Library is actually better than Gold in expected money produced. Plus it cycles more cards to let you play your Golds more often. Maybe you still want Gold on turn 5 since you figure you'll hit $5 again before the shuffle, but you surely want to take the Library on turn 7.
