Looking for stuff not really worthy of "Greatest Moments" or powerful combos, but weird, little known interactions that just make you chuckle.

Today's stupid pet trick that just came up for me for the first time (for pretty obvious reasons):  Transmuting Duchesses into Duchies, and gaining a free Duchess.

Deck full of actions, as you draw them with Scrying Pools, leave golds on top of opponent's deck, only to gain them with Jesters and draw them with some Cantrips :D

This snippet in one of -Stef-'s games is pretty neat:

cherdano plays a Swindler.
... getting +$2.
... -Stef- turns up a Silver and trashes it.
... replacing -Stef-'s Silver with a Develop.
... ... -Stef- reveals a Trader to gain a Silver instead of a Develop.
... ... -Stef- gains a Silver.
... ... ... revealing a Watchtower.
... ... ... putting the Silver on the deck.

I've had some fun with Border Village and Treasury, plus some way to get Provinces. It's really hard to turn it into a combo, but it's fun to constantly have hands of 4 or 5 Treasuries, and winning without buying Victory cards (for example I did this with Remodel, buying endless Border Villages gaining Duchies, and Remodeling my BV's into Provinces, but I suspect other synergies would work.)

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Mandarin is quite awesome for these stupid tricks, yes.

I do enjoy Mandarin - put green on deck - Venture or Loan.

Remodeling a Gold into a Province, then buying a Gold....when I could have just bought a Province.

Ok, can somebody explain to me what exactly this means?  I have knowledge of where it came from, some rules clarification.  But I'm mostly lost.

Blue Dog: In this BGG post, DXV attempts to explain the interaction between Ironworks and Trader, using a strange analogy to a blue dog.  Not only does the blue dog confuse the issue, he later changes his mind about the ruling.

A quite strategic move if you're trying to drain the Gold piles to end the game!

I have not actually pulled off that move, and it would be of little practical use, but damn, it would be fun! Especially if you can follow up with minion.

Duchess/Noble Brigand mindgames.  "Oh, you liked what was on top of your deck, did you? Guess I'll buy a Noble Brigand"

I don't get it... I thought the idea was to give your opponent a hand full of Nomad Camps. Why would you let him discard them to your Minion?

I believe playing minion would just have them discard their hand (which does not yet contain nomad camps) and draw four nomad camps.

I was in bed last night trying to work out crazy tricks involving HoP to gain Farmlands, trashing silver to gain Mandarin, putting the HoP back before it can get trashed for gaining a Victory card, but then I realised that Farmland is on buy :(.

Can anyone think of a way to gain Victory cards with HoP without trashing it (excluding the obvious gain BV trick)

I can now add "playing Explorer, top-decking the silver with Watchtower because I already had $8" to the list.

Not exactly what you asked for, but if you play Counterfeit - HOP, you can gain two Victory Cards from one HOP.

Possession.

But well, the HoP is still trashed - if only for a short while -, it's just put aside and put into your opponent's discard pile at the end of the turn. I mean, "on-trash" cards like Market Square can still react to it.

i had a game yesterday with ambassador, city, familar, where my opponent used his familar to hand me the last curse, then play his leveled up cites to draw his deck, and then returned 2 curses with ambassador to bring the cities down again. He managed to do this 3 times in a row.

I managed to get 5 coin hands for the first 4 turns of the game.

Turn 1: 5x copper, bought Mandarin
Turn 2: 5x copper, bought Haggler
Turn 3: 2x copper, shelters, opponent plays Bishop, I trashed my Overgrown Estate, shuffle and draw the Mandarin, put the Necro back on top
Turn 4: Haggler, 3x copper, Necro.  Play Haggler, 3 copper

Opening Noble Brigand so your opponents 2/5 opening is now 2/3.
