A number of issues to discuss here:

1. Standardization
I think category names should be capitalized and plural, like "Cards" and "Action Cards"
Some more work for the bot

2. Merging
Should we merge articles like "Duration" to their category pages ("Category: Duration Cards")?

3. Cantrip, Villages, Trashers, etc.
Should we give them one single clear definition for the sake of categorization?

i'm pretty sure we have already discussed this elsewhere. it is something that we can aim for, but things are always going to slip through the cracks.

the trouble is that there isn't a clear definition for most of these. and as anyone who frequents the meme thread or puzzles subforum knows there are always exceptions and edge cases. personally, i don't see why we can't just keep the definitions broad for the wiki.

Disagree. "Cards" is a lowercase word. And category names in general ("villages", "trashers") are informal terms and lowercase, to distinguish them from technical terminology and card names ("Action cards", "Village", "Chapel").

No; Category pages should just be indices of links to pages within the category. The main article should be linked on the category page as well.

I think the existing pages on categories like this do a pretty good job of identifying both the core of the concept and where the definitions get a little fuzzier around the edges; no need to fix what's not broken.

My general style guide (and which I try to impose on every article on the blog) is that all card names and all type names (Treasure, Action, Victory) are capitalized.  Action is also capitalized when referring to Actions to play, as is Buy and Coin.  Cards is capitalized only when referring to +3 Cards.

I don't think it's a terribly big deal if we don't rigidly adhere to a style guide, but it's something to keep in mind when writing original content.

Definitely not. I agree with AJD here. The Duration article should get a categorization,
3. Cantrip, Villages, Trashers, etc.

That's difficult. I agree that we should come to a consensus of definition on the terms somehow. But until then, it's just fine to have a strict and a loose definition of cantrip.

At least change the category names to plurals, and to the same format. We currently have "Card", "Seaside Card", "Attack card", etc...
They should be "Cards", "Seaside cards", "Attack cards",...

The bot can simply find and replace Category:XXX
For a list of some of the categories that need changing, Go to Category:Card
