I find it funny that we're talking about winter when there's a tropical storm occurring outside my house right now.

...well, extratropical, but still. Anyone getting hit by snow from this thing yet?

All of the seasons have their perks; I'm in a location where I experience extreme temperatures in both summer and winter, which is a nice contrast. I've gotten so used to it that I don't think I can ever move from here in NJ >_<

Driving in snow/ice though != fun.

The best thing about winter is obviously that you have a great excuse to stay inside and play board games. In the summer people think I'm lame for wanting to play instead of going out to enjoy the awesome weather. :P

Fall > Winter > Summer >>>>>> Spring.

This may have something to do with seasonal allergies.

Not one for allergies either. And hey, if none of you like winter, move to Texas.

Fall is much more descriptive: Leaves are falling, rain is falling, in New York even whole trees are falling!

that works with Summer.
Doesnt really work with Spring or Winter

Autumn is fine, there's no need for a descriptive word!

Winter is SOOO much better than Summer. Sitting by the fireplace all wrapped up with your honey watching the snow fall outside... It's paradise. Completely beats spending the day at the beach in the sun and suits (or, given preference, lack thereof).

If you have to heat your house, I think you'll find that summer >> winter by a large margin.

Nothing better than coming home out of the frosty, freezing cold, absolutely frozen to the bone (and wet to boot), and walking through the front door into a warm, cozy interior. Stripping down the layers and layers of clothes, making a hot cup of tea, and letting out a long sigh of contentment.

Bliss.

Faust has also been incredibly stubborn this game. In other news, it's hot in the summer, and water falls from the sky when it rains.

Advantage of winter over summer: warm beds on cold nights are wonderful, but there is no such thing as a cold bed on a warm night.

There is no ideal inside temperature during winter. It's always too cold, like when the heat is on too low, or too hot, like when the heat is on too high (or you just walk into the house after having 4 layers on plus a scarf and you immediately start sweating).

Winter is the worst.

I disagree.  There is objectively a truly ideal temperature in winter, and that is when you are in a warm bed.  (Getting out of that warm bed ... now that is the worst part about winter, for sure.)
