This thread is for Role Madness Mafia 5, which will be Shakespeare-themed!  So foul and fair a day I have not seen!

Rest of this post will be modified to reflect the sign-up list and game rules.  I haven't prepared a set of rules yet for a Role Madness game, and want to take some time to do so.

In the meantime, SIGN-UPS ARE OPEN!  If you are interested, please /in and also list up to three Shakespeare plays from which you would enjoy playing a role.  Source material from the canon has not yet been selected, and your preferences may influence those decisions!

The game will have a maximum of 13 players.  The level of bastardry in the setup has NOT yet been determined, but once the setup is finalized I will be publicly disclosing my best estimation of how bastardly (or not) the setup will be.

I am also seeking one or two back-up mods with whom to collaborate on preparing the setup.

SIGN-UP LIST:

2.  ashersky
3.  Galzria

Oh - I've only read Henvy V, Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet I think.  Maybe another one.

Hamlet, MacBeth and Romeo and Juliet are the only one that I've read, so those.

I also know some basics of Shakespeare coding language, if that helps. Still not sure if /in, depends on level of bastardy, which I usually do not like, but it is Volt's game and those can't fail.

I'm down with any material, from any play, or any Sonnet.

Faust has also been incredibly stubborn this game. In other news, it's hot in the summer, and water falls from the sky when it rains.

Also, I would be disappointed if dead people do not come back as ghosts. Maybe even die pre-game!

Wasn't thinking about which plays would yield best roles. Definitely have to suggest Midsummer as my top choice now.

Confirming now.

Othello, Richard III, Lear would all make good mafia games.  But really, Much Ado is the only way to go.  Dibs on Benedick.

Could you maybe announce what's this based on asap, so people could read the material if they so desire?

Once material is selected, it will be announced and there will be time before the game starts for folks to do that reading, if they so desire.  It will not be required.

Surely The Scottish Play is the best setting for this, murder and intrigue, Witches, Danes, the lot!

Wrong. You can /out of a lot of things, but a Voltgloss moderated Rolemadness game flavored by Shakespeare? No. Just no. You can't miss it. Out of the question. You're /in.

I will /in, but you may come to rue
the theme you have conferred upon this game
You'll find it is a blessing and a curse
(when possible I'll use iambic verse)

I think Lear would be grand. But also I guess Midsummer and Romeo and Juliet?
