Common trait puzzle

Go here and take a look at these four cards in a row: Smugglers, Warehouse, Caravan, Cutpurse.

1. What common trait do these four cards share?
2. What are the only two cards from the Base set that share this trait?
3. What are the two cards that I consider "honorable mentions"?

diehrstraits displays more / fewer cards per row depending on screen width. So, my third row starts at Sea Hag.

Should've checked for that, thanks, edited original post. The point is that these four cards happen to be next to each other on that page, which should make it easier to figure out the common trait. BTW if anyone's having trouble with this puzzle, I can list a couple more cards with the trait.

They're all part of a story.

There once was a Cutpurse who stole a nice leather purse from an honest Smithy. He took the treasures he found in it for himself, but had no use for the leather so he passed it off to a couple of Smugglers. These Smugglers crossed the desert by Caravan to reach the port where they happened upon a Warehouse with a hidden Cellar, ideal to pass of their wares. Then along came two honorable mentions and they bought the Smithy's purse.

So the answer can ONLY be Smithy and Cellar, obviously.  ;D

Much difficulty though I think it was something to do with __Wharf__.

Just to be clear, there are plenty of cards that share this particular trait across all expansions. In Seaside, Island, Explorer, Outpost, and Tactician have the trait (along with the 4 already given), but Wharf and all other cards from Seaside do not. I'll give more hints as needed or requested. Happy hunting! :)

Well it's been a week since I posted this and I'm really eager (read: impatient :-X) for you to try and figure out the solution, so here are all the cards from Intrigue that share the trait:

Great Hall
Baron
Mining Village
Upgrade

(This isn't a hint b/c it needs to be known--) Note that looking at the actual cards is important.

"Microscopic" hint: You do not need a microscope. :P
Hint 2: The trait has nothing to do with card mechanics, except one of the honorable mentions.
Hint 3: Alchemy has no cards that share the trait, but one I consider the other honorable mention.
Hint 4: The common trait is actually two traits that "align."
Hint 5: The trait has to to do with two numbers being equal.

Alright, I think we need more hints.  I just can't figure this out at all, and I've been trying for weeks.

1. What common trait do these four cards share?
2. What are the only two cards from the Base set that share this trait?
3. What are the two cards that I consider "honorable mentions"?

1. The number of lines in their description is the same number as their price.
2. Library and Chancellor.
3. Copper and Curse.

This is a pretty contrived common trait. My next idea was to try and find something similar in the Godel numbers of the cards' names or some similar shenanigan.

If Copper and Curse qualify, then Great Hall wouldn't be included.

Copper and Curse don't have a description, they have a symbol on their image. Meaning the number of lines in their description is not 0 but nothing, thus being an honorable mention.

Great Hall has an image and its description has a symbol in it. The symbol takes one line for 3 lines total.

Hmm, I was thinking of Curse and Copper as having only description and no image, but I suppose you could think of it in the reverse.

Just a completely wild guess, but is it that they have what could be considered to be another different card on them?

Like, for example, Smugglers has a Merchant Ship in the background, Warehouse has a Wharf in front of it, Caravan has an Oasis over to the right, and Cutpurse has a Warehouse in the background? :P

Well, considering he said one of the honorable mentions is from Alchemy, Familiar($3◉, 3 lines) is clearly the one (If ◉ is translated to 1 line of text, then both Golem and University will qualify)

1.                   Yes!
2.                   Yes!
3. Good idea, but I was only considering kingdom cards

Correct! What's the other one?
