I read the Alt VP article, then this happened...

Okay so, Iso decided to fit every alt VP card (Except Tunnel) into 1 game in a proposed game with Silk Road in it. I call it Alt VP Hell. You can probably see why.

cards in supply: Apprentice, Duke, Fairgrounds, Farming Village, Farmland, Gardens, Goons, Horn of Plenty, Potion, Silk Road, and Vineyard

Okay so let's say you had to play this set up, what is the best opening? I started 5/2 , my opponent 4/3. (I lost :S)
What's the fastest rush for this?
What is the best way to get more points than that rush by the last turn in the rush?
What's the best strategy overall? Apprentice/Goons/FV/?

Ooh, fun set.  You can add Horn of Plenty to the Apprentice/Goons/Farming Village engine.  Gold, Silver, Copper, HoP, Apprentice, FV, Goons is only 7, but with Potion there might even be a HoP Province rush here.

It's going to take a while to get something going with Apprentice, Farming Village, Goons and HoP. Just getting a bunch of Silvers and Goons will allow you to rush the Silk Roads, Gardens and Estates. The Goons should hurt the engine player a lot while the Silk Road rusher won't mind getting Goonsed all the time.

Nope no log :S. Either way, we just fooled around with this. We got every pile to 1 including curses and then apprentice'd everything to death until all we had was Goons/Goons/FV/FV/Apprentice/Goons/Goons.

Definitely just going Goons into Silk Road/Gardens here. With 5/2 I open Horn of Plenty/Silver probably, although that's kind of weird. I would want that to pick up Silvers, even Coppers.

hehe yeah. I went Apprentice this game for 5/2. Apprentice/Nothing. I just kept buying coppers every time I had a chance because I kept Apprenticing them away when I had nothing to apprentice except Goons :S
