One epic turn

I'm still not exactly good at this game, but sometimes you get a hand that even I can't screw up. Like double King's Court.

   — PeterM's turn 18 —
   PeterM plays a King's Court.
   ... and plays a King's Court.
   ... ... and plays a Ghost Ship.
   ... ... ... drawing 2 cards.
... ... ... Satya puts 2 cards back on the deck.
... ... ... Knushu puts 2 cards back on the deck.
... ... and plays the Ghost Ship again.
   ... ... ... drawing 2 cards.
   ... ... ... Satya only has 3 cards.
   ... ... ... Knushu only has 3 cards.
... ... and plays the Ghost Ship a third time.
   ... ... ... drawing 2 cards.
   ... ... ... Satya only has 3 cards.
   ... ... ... Knushu only has 3 cards.
... and plays the King's Court again.
   ... ... and plays a Cellar.
   ... ... ... getting +1 action.
   ... ... ... discarding 5 cards.
   ... ... ... (PeterM reshuffles.)
   ... ... ... drawing 5 cards.
... ... and plays the Cellar again.
   ... ... ... getting +1 action.
   ... ... ... discarding 1 card.
   ... ... ... drawing 1 card.
... ... and plays the Cellar a third time.
   ... ... ... getting +1 action.
   ... ... ... discarding 1 card.
   ... ... ... drawing 1 card.
... and plays the King's Court a third time.
   ... ... and plays a Merchant Ship.
   ... ... ... getting +$2.
... ... and plays the Merchant Ship again.
   ... ... ... getting +$2.
... ... and plays the Merchant Ship a third time.
   ... ... ... getting +$2.
   PeterM plays a Merchant Ship.
   ... getting +$2.
   PeterM plays an Apprentice.
   ... trashing a Copper.
   ... getting +1 action.
   PeterM plays a Loan.
... drawing and revealing a Copper.
   ... trashing the Copper.
   PeterM plays a Gold.
   PeterM buys a Province.
(PeterM draws: 4 Coppers and a King's Court.)

I ended up winning on turn 22, after buying five provinces on five consecutive turns...I was so lucky, that deck was such a mess.

Honestly, that wasn't one epic turn.  An epic turn was like this one:

--- Epoch's turn 18 ---
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Copper and discarding it.
... making jjgarcia77 discard a Conspirator.
... revealing a Grand Market and a Copper and putting them in the hand.
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Conspirator.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action and +$2.
Epoch plays a Conspirator.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action and +$2.
Epoch plays a Conspirator.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action and +$2.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Conspirator and keeping it.
... making jjgarcia77 discard a Grand Market.
... revealing a Conspirator, a Grand Market, a Grand Market, a Scrying Pool, and a Copper and putting them in the hand.
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Grand Market.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action, +1 buy, and +$2.
Epoch plays a Mining Village.
... drawing 1 card and getting +2 actions.
Epoch plays a Conspirator.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action and +$2.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Scrying Pool and keeping it.
... making jjgarcia77 discard a Grand Market.
... revealing a Scrying Pool, a Conspirator, a Fortune Teller, and a Potion and putting them in the hand.
Epoch plays a Conspirator.
... drawing 1 card and getting +1 action and +$2.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Scrying Pool and keeping it.
... letting jjgarcia77 keep a Copper.
... revealing a Scrying Pool, a Scrying Pool, and an Estate and putting them in the hand.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Copper and discarding it.
... letting jjgarcia77 keep a Copper.
... (Epoch reshuffles.)
... revealing a Copper and putting it in the hand.
Epoch plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Copper and keeping it.
... letting jjgarcia77 keep a Copper.
... revealing a Copper and putting it in the hand.
Epoch plays a Fortune Teller.
... getting +$2.
... jjgarcia77 reveals a Copper, a Grand Market, a Fortune Teller, and an Estate.
... jjgarcia77 puts the Estate back onto the deck.
... jjgarcia77 discards a Fortune Teller, a Grand Market, and a Copper.
Epoch plays a Pawn.
... getting +1 buy and +$1.
Epoch plays 7 Coppers and a Potion.
Epoch buys a Province.
Epoch buys a Province.
Epoch buys a Province.
Epoch buys a Province.
(Epoch reshuffles.)
(Epoch draws: 2 Grand Markets, 2 Conspirators, and a Scrying Pool.)

What you had, by virtue of your Merchant Ships, was two guaranteed consecutive very good turns.

(Which, I want to be clear, is awesome, and in a lot of ways better than one epic turn.)

If you think that turn is "epic", keep playing dominion!!!!  You'll be amazed by all the combinations and interactions between cards that can lead to "epic" turns.  Some of these "epic" turns may happen against you, but the more you play, the more often you'll put things together for the grand finale sort of turn.

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

That's a nice one, but you can get much crazier turns in dominion!

My craziest turn I've ever played :

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110720-201807-01ed7b07.html#HockeyHippo-show-turn-21

Gaining more than 200 VP in one turn :P

If I'd seen that, I would have conceded immediately.

I love the icing on the cake there, embargoing the King's Courts.   ;D

The main thing that is crazy about the turn is that for some reason you elected not to end the game.

In retrospect I know I should have. I knew I had won already and should have ended it there. But I got the exact amount of money I needed for 6 colonies(66$) and couldn't pass them up :P

One of my favorite games involved a deck with King's Court, Council Room, and Militia.

This one really belongs in the "Dear My Opponent: I am Sorry" thread.  Your opponent may have required therapy after that.

I pulled basically the same combo off on my sister one afternoon a few days after the game above.  I warned her at the beginning of the game, telling her exactly what would happen and exactly how the deck is built, and that I would stay clear if she did.  She bought the first Potion anyway.

After the combo she rage quit and wouldn't talk to me for an hour or so.

This was just mean, mister.

I think what I did this game is a little meaner, just because the only thing my deck is good at is playing Possession:

[33 cards] 6 King's Courts, 6 Wharves, 3 Council Rooms, 2 Possessions, 1 Mint, 1 Copper, 3 Estates, 3 Duchies, 7 Provinces, 1 Colony

I had 16 turns, my opponent had 15 turns as well as 23 extra turns where I was possessing him. The worst he could have done with possessing me would have been to play my Council Rooms and not my Wharves.
