Challenge (non-terminal drawer)

Cost 4
+1 action
Do this thrice
Reveal the top card of both your and the player to your left's deck.
If your card has a higher cost put it in your hand. Discard all remaining revealed cards.

This should on average get you a bit less than 1.5 cards (due to equality cases) but the cards it does get you have been sort of sifted which is nice so I suspect it's balanced. Thoughts?

(based on somebody elses idea of a version of this card which effects everybody else)

It's definitely a balanced card. It heavily favors the leading player, but also discards the opponent's bad cards.

I really love how it says "do this thrice".

I think that cards that favour leading players are basically bad ideas.

What happens when the two cards have the same cost?

The same thing as in any case where "If your card has a higher cost" is evaluated as false -- it gets discarded.

What about if you get the cards if you "lose" the contest or tie. If you "win", you can set those cards aside and place them on the bottom of your deck.
Cost 3
+1 action
Do this thrice
Reveal the top card of both your and the player to your left's deck. Discard their card.
If their card has a higher cost put your revealed card in your hand. Otherwise, place your revealed card on the bottom of your deck.

This seems fine. Even though it doesn't draw many cards on average, it does draw the good ones and cycle the bad ones. What might be even more interesting is if your card has a lower cost, you trash it instead of discarding, which improves your chances of "winning" in the future, and also just serves as a nice Copper/Curse trasher.

Now this is awesome! A card that draws crap, but groups the good stuff together.

It'd be hilarious if I reveal a Gold and the player to the left reveals a Province at the same time. Or, if we are talking early game, I reveal a Copper and the player to the left reveals an Estate. Chancy! But I can potentially play a Steward or Trade Route on the same turn as this card, which could actually be pretty awesome and something Smithy couldn't do for me.

So what if he reveals Alchemist and I reveal Gold? Other than that, it's a very cool idea and uses "thrice."

Minor change to my idea. It didn't match the words I said before.

Cost 3
+1 action
Do this thrice
Reveal the top card of both your and the player to your left's deck. Discard their card.
Unless your card has a higher cost, put your revealed card in your hand. Otherwise, place your revealed card on the bottom of your deck.

Gold does not cost more than Alchemist, so I imagine you would discard it.
