Yes it is another one of those torturer runs but with the added wrinkle of being combined with 8 Minions, University and Menagerie

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110717-172656-91dbb639.html

I didn't feel bad until the engine halted for a turn with only 1 torturer and nothing else and my opponent was unable to do anything anyway.

Just had my house mate rage quit on me in real life. I had Chapeled everything except action cards, and had a Village chain going (Some were Cities, but no piles had gone). I was drawing my deck almost every turn, which contained 3 Mountebanks, and also a couple of Bridges. He had decided against buying Mountebanks in favour of Cities and Festivals, had been trashing with a Lookout, and bought a couple of Estates to support his Baron. Suddenly, after I Mountebanked him for about the 9th, 10th and 11th times, he stood up and said "I quit! There's no point playing if you're going to draw all your cards every turn." And he started packing up the cards.

We've both got into Dominion in the past month or so, and have been playing nearly every day. Although I'm now wondering if he'll play with me again any time soon...  :-\

Here's a better Torturer run.  ;D

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110816-195801-745c9500.html

I Tortured 16 times, including 5 in one turn, 3 in one, and a couple of 2s. I finally won the game when my opponent took the last Curse, with Torturers and Villages already gone.

He finished with 9 Curses.

In the game I just played:

— mqs's turn 16 —
mqs plays a Potion, a Harem, and 2 Silvers.
mqs buys a Possession.
(mqs reshuffles.)

— Your turn 16 —
You play a Jester.
... You get +$2.
... mqs draws and discards a Possession.
... You gain a Possession.
You play 3 Coppers.
You buy a Duchy.
(You reshuffle.)

Yes, that was his first possession.

You damn well oughta be sorry. I wasn't even involved an I hate you for this >:(

(I've had some really painful losses in the past going like 1 for 10 on Mountebank against people who go 9 for 9.)

Here's another one I have a lot to be sorry for.

Double tactician? Check.
King's courting bridges? Check.
Swindling his bridge into a curse? Check
Remaking coppers into golds and golds into provinces? Check and check.

Jonts20 doesn't mention:

Winning the game 70 to -2.
That King's courting bridges, swindling his opponent's bridge into a curse, and remaking Golds into Provinces all happened on the same turn (the turn where he gained two Provinces, bought 4 more Provinces, a Colony, and 4 Duchies.  Ouch).

I am so sorry.

See my turn 18. Although to be fair, he brought that upon himself. Nobody buys Masquerade in a Possession game, let alone a King's Court Possession game.

*Fondly remembers the game where opponent kings courted 2 wharves then I king's court possessed him and broke out his king's court ambassador*...

Too bad he quit before the game ended :/

Yes, but I'm sure when you do it you have plans to ditch the Masquerade before you get Possessed.

Not usually. Masquerade is just SO good. The game's going to be so short. If they go for possession, they'll get to play it... maybe once before the end of the game? And then they have to hit a hand where I have the masq. And I'm probably up enough that that swing isn't necessarily going to swing the game anyway. But I mean, it is on my mind. If there is something else that looks good, I'll go for that to avoid this issue.

I would also keep masq in a possession game. I think masq should be able to outrace it.

You can also masquerade him a masquerade, possibly even on the turn you possess him...

I've searched a bit and expected to find some games where you went straight Masqu + BM against Possession.
But I wasn't very successful ;-)

This example is about reversed roles (however he didn't go for direct Masq + BM):
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110522-164420-3cfd2fd0.html

I thougt about this one, but immediately after Possession was gained the game ended:
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110703-125038-28e6a1f9.html

Very funny is this game in which you started with Gardens(!) in reaction to his potion.
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110426-132502-ad937a46.html

In all other games you had Possessions too or opponent had none.

I don't have any idea what I was thinking in the first and third games. The second game is more of my point, though a bit lucky for me to get that good of a version of it. These games are all months old (the first one is a little over three months, the second one about 7 weeks, the third one 4 months), which is a function of 1) a specific two cards being in a set is rare, and 2)people don't want to play with possession.
Also, I rarely go 'straight' masq w/money, against anything. My comment was meant to be how I would play on a generic board with those cards today, as clearly I don't necessarily think what I've done in the past is best - who opens gardens?!?! I mean, I love gardens, but really???

Dear victorygrin,

I'm sorry the Tributes worked out so well for me on the last turn of http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110831-002231-cd2582a8.html

Dear lipman,

I'm sorry I got such a lucky reshuffle on turn 11 of http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20110830-094550-842ec3bc.html, and I'm sorry I used so many of your own Tournaments against you on turn 15.

While that is pretty amazing, at least you didn't Curse him with the Jester. That would be about the worst loss I've seen.

Dear Rem69!

I'm sorry for:
a) playing outpost every turn
b) drawing my entire deck almost every turn
c) saboteuring you almost every turn
d) trashing your only colony

Thanks for not exiting, I may have done it if I were in your place...

Dear boondoggle:

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201109/09/game-20110909-140420-fa048cd0.html

I'm sorry for not having the faintest idea what the score was, and thus playing very conservatively with a Saboteur/Saboteur/Jester pin while buying one Province per turn.  The end of that game was full of my turns taking forever and your deck getting worse.  I have been there, and it is not fun.

Dear chaos,

I'm sorry I carried out the rest of my last turn in our Univ/Bishop/Rabble game earlier today. If I'd been thinking about the score at all I'd have realized I was ahead and just hit "End Turn" the moment the third pile emptied.  But thank you for not only sticking around but also chatting about the board post-game!

Dear (everyone I've played on isotropic the past week or so),

I'm sorry I've been a whiny/snippy jackass. Playing atrociously or even getting unlucky is no reason to be a bad on-line human being.
