Dear Sankara,

I'm sorry I Swindled your newly-bought Black Market Sea Hag.

I'm sure she was a lovely lady and it must have hurt to know that you'd never see her again.

Ever.

Love, Ela

PS: Shoulda had a Swindler.

Dear opponent:

You were kicking my ass.  Up 41-14 with a much better deck, 4 Colonies left.  You even knew to junk up your deck because I had two Possessions.  But for some reason you kept adding Advisors and I even swindled your Count into a Butcher in hopes that I could Possess you and use the Butcher.  But me drawing both of my possessions at the same time on a fat deck was totally lucky, I then I proceeded to take the last 4 Colonies on the two turns I possessed you.  It must have hurt, and I'm sorry.

Dear John Jones:

I'm sorry I ruined what would have been a satisfying game by stealing a forced win out from under your nose. Then again...

Dear Big Tuna,

I'm sorry that your Soothsayer plays on turns 9-13 against my Masterpiece deck drew me the treasure I needed to buy provinces on each of those five turns:

Dear real life opponent: I'm sorry that you didn't realize how good Magpie is and I got them all and ended up trashing Provinces because they were getting in my way.

Dear IRL opponent: I'm sorry I teamed up with a third player to never exchange our warriors, after I proceeded to play seven travellers in a row, trashing all of your Warriors.

The fact that I couldn't even get to 5 turn 3 or 4 was what really hurt on my end...

I am sorry that this nightmare board had three different semi-stackable discard attacks that could be spammed every turn.

I am sorry that I got 8 bandit camps and you only got 2.

I am sorry that there was no plus buy, so piling provinces was more dangerous than three piling after you were pinned.

I am sorry that I didn't have the terminal space to continue adding torturers after emptying curse and bandit camp, so I had to buy a potion and empty alchemists instead.

Most of all, I'm sorry that your apparent will to never ever resign dragged you through 24 long turns of being multi-attacked.

I'm sorry that you had a 5/2 on an Ambassador board.

I'm sorry that my two opening Ambs didn't collide even once in 13 turns.

I am sorry that despite my bad shuffle luck, you winning the Port split, your +1 Action token on Ranger, +1 Card token on Port, and getting 2 Teachers before my first Disciple, I three-piled you on Ports, Rangers, and Estates. You were obviously in the lead, with a much better strategy than mine, consistently drawing your deck several times over, and I just stole the win from you.

P.S: Watch out for three-piles!

I am sorry for not resigning around the time you got your 8th Hunting party. I was playing a terrible game and I swear I was really thinking about it.

Dear jaybeez,

I'm sorry you had the worst luck any opponent I have ever played on turns 3-5.

I'm sorry my ambassador came into hand on turn 3 while yours missed the shuffle. I'm sorry that on turn 4 I was able to buy a minion, while you, despite having the ambassador not in hands 3 or 4 did not hit 5. I'm sorry that on turn 5, your ambassador finally in hand, my minion instashuffled in, allowing me to discard your ambassador.

I'm sorry that you were forced to switch to bureaucrat as your only possible comeback means.

The shuffle luck gods had a good laugh and cried tears of injustice. I'm sorry.

Seriously, seriously, why would you choose not to resign here?  I would be gnawing through my cheeks in frustration.
So I have a tendency to hang on in goner situations, maybe to work on my card play or find out if my engine ever really did catch. But even I would be so lunging on the Resign button here:

1zzzzz   plays Alchemist
1zzzzz   draws Curse, Curse
1zzzzz   plays Alchemist
1zzzzz   shuffles deck
1zzzzz   draws Curse, Curse
1zzzzz   draws Alchemist, Estate, Bandit Camp, Copper, Torturer

Okay, so one of these days you do get to play a decent hand, maybe. But at what psychic cost.

Dear Jerry Thomas,

http://www.gokosalvager.com/static/logprettifier.html?20150820/log.516ddba9e4b082c74d7cbb0e.1440118714075.txt

I am sorry that on turn 18, certain you had me on piles at any moment yet finally holding a playable hand of TR-TR-Moat-Scheme-Scheme in a Cultist/Rebuild game I was behind the whole time, I said "Behold my awesome engine", only to line up a TR with my Rebuild on turn 20, trashing Duchies into Provinces and buying the final Estate for a 1-point victory. I hope you realize I was mocking my deck and felt a bit of an arse snaking out the victory.

Shouldn't invite nasty comebacks emptying remaining Estates lest you, I suggest, win even after Rebuild.
