Dear Domination,

Sorry for spotting that that combo was on the board and playing it. I can see why you thought it a "cheap ass way to win".

Dear Mugivi,

I apologised at the time, but I'm still just sorry for this game. We both started down the obvious copper-enabler synergy route, only to realise we were lacking things like good draw. Yet while your deck stalled out, my very similar deck hit Golds, then Provinces, and ended up with what should have been a very close game ending 40-15.

Dear Wandering Winder,

I'm sorry that my schizophrenic Black Market deck took advantage of your very rational BM deck as I randomly assembled a rather effective "BM's worst nightmare" deck consisting of a Militia, a Pirate Ship, and an Oracle, which I played every turn. On the other hand, I consider it a victory of spontaneity over boring-old-BM.

Lots of apology-worthy games for me recently.

Dear NinjaBus, I'm sorry for playing literally pure big money and somehow buying my 4th province on my turn 11. That just should not happen (it's a 0.11% chance on a 4/3 split, according to my simulations). I thought my luck was bad when I didn't have $5 to spend on either turns 3 or 4, when I was planning to buy Trading Post to follow my Silver/Silver opening. Instead it ended up as among the luckiest games I've ever played. Log: http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120209-163506-7ee9bdea.html

Dear zaubererer, I'm sorry for buying Black Market and pulling out (among others!) King's Court, Saboteur, Torturer, Remake, Salvager, and even a Fairgrounds, when the only attack in the original board was Rabble and the only trasher on the original board was Forge. Also, Village was in the kingdom (and I pulled several Village variants from the Black Market). With my deck reduced to an engine that played multiple Rabbles per turn and King's Courted whichever of Saboteur or Torturer I wanted to abuse that turn, I'm sure play in the late game was horrible, and you had no chance to build a similar engine yourself. The worst is that the points were quite close for a long time so you probably felt you needed to stay in. Log: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201202/10/game-20120210-044223-425de153.html

Is there a bug here?  The game summary at the top of the log indicates that he has 9 cards remaining  in his deck, but then he should be drawing those cards at this time.

I'm sorry I didn't notice Woodcutter as a savior until about turn 30. Still, you kind of deserved it for going for such a ridiculously drawn out TR-Masquerade combo....

I am sorry to have missed KC three cycles in a row. It made you win and brought you to believe that lookout is a better opener than warehouse on these kinds of boards.

So this is the "Dear my Opponent: I am sorry that I lost due to bad luck which made you think your in my opinion inferior strategy was better"-thread? Wait, each of us has at least a few dozen games which fit that description...

This is definitely not in the spirit of this thread. Even if you only lost due to bad luck, please don't whine about it here. Consider yourself shunned!

On the plus side, this is a strong early contender for the Most Hilariously Inappropriate Isotropic Username Of The Year award.

To get us back on topic, and to add to the "Dear WW, I'm sorry" notes:

Dear WanderingWinder,

I'm sorry that you had to play from 2nd position (because you killed me) on a board featuring Hunting Party, Governors, and Militia.  Piledriving colonies on you should be a special achievement on councilroom stats pages.  I lost the log, but I'm pretty sure that the "Bully" achievement is pretty close.

To follow it, I'm extra sorry I tournament [redacted] you in the follow-on match, in which I didn't really do anything different from you, but had banes when I needed them, and had provinces when you didn't want me to: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201202/14/game-20120214-091016-535869b7.html

At least you got me back in the next match with a well executed early buy of harem that had my head scratching.

Dear My Opponent,

I'm sorry for just finishing the game by Ambassadoring you two Provinces so I could run out the pile. I'm also sorry that you never had anything worth trashing when I used my Governors for multi-Province turns on a board with no +Buy.

Dear my opponent:

I'm sorry I gave you so much false hope in the ten (including possession) turns from turn 18. In reality, the best you could have done was to lose to me off turns.

Dear Rabid,

I'm sorry for deciding to buy 4 treasure maps on a board with absolutely no treasure map help, and then have all 4 hit with impressive timing. I had no business winning that game.

Dear CoinDoggie,

I'm sorry for playing the worst board imaginable for what it was, rather than taking the high road like you.  Seriously, I am.  The game took forever and must have sucked from your end.
