I'm sorry that I had some nice luck and you accidentally activated cities for me, shortening the game significantly.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201110/25/game-20111025-103357-990109b1.html

That's really not a great board for buying pirate ships. Bazaars, conspirators, cities, bridges and oases should make for a very action heavy deck. Having someone pick your coppers out for you can only make it faster.
I am dumbfounded by the number of Bridges purchased that game.

Dear luke,

After snooping through councilroom.com, I see you were once the victim of the KC-Goons-Masquerade pin.

Our game from today featured a board with King's Court and Goons, and a Black Market from which you were fortunate enough to get a Masquerade on turn 4. You were one turn away from pinning me when I won the game by emptying 3 piles on a turn which netted me 93 points.

I'm sorry that my first player advantage is what saved me.

Dear Opponent,

I am sorry that, even though I had 1 copy of Tournament while you had 7, I was the first person to get Trusty Steed and Princess before you resigned.

Dear amoeba amoeba,

I'm sorry that I had the luck of drawing at least one torturer for 10 straight turns, sometimes more than one for a total of 14 in 10 turns, starting 3rd turn.

Dear Matilainen,

I'm sorry for not warning you that in a game with Goons, Vault and Gardens in the tableau, it's generally a good idea to not let your opponent get all eight Tunnels.

Dear THE REAL JLLAMA,

I'm sorry that Donald didn't have a simulator to find out that Jack of all Trades is completely bonkers:

Funnily enough your simulator likes this better without the chapel, and still doesn't think it is any better than courtyard/venture :) . Good but only so good. If you want to do something completely bonkers with your simulator you probably need tunnels ....

The simulator will play Chapel instead of Jack and then only trash 1 Copper, or play a Jack and not trash the Chapel when most of the trashing is done. So I wouldn't conclude that double Jack is better than Single Jack/Chapel based on simulations.

Dear Smartie,

You played a great game going straight money and Hunting Parties and getting to 4 Provinces in 12 13 turns. Any other day that would have been an easy win for you. You can't really argue with my 10 Golds though:

Hunting Party + Tunnel looks pretty good, especially if you can manage to skip Silvers. Obviously you really need an early Hunting Party here. If you don't get the 5/2 opening, something like Mining Village or Feast might be a good opening buy in games with HP + Tunnel.

Ah, Hunting Tunnels. I don't know, on a 3/4 opening you might not have the luxury of skipping Silvers; although Monument/Tunnel looks plausible as an opener too, hoping that everything turns out right for your first HP. But Turn 3 drawing 5 coppers after a 5/2 opening is just brutally good, and definitely worthy of this thread!

Dear Opponent,

I'm sorry I got the 5/2 split with Torturer and FV on the board... then pulled 5 Coppers on T3 for a second Torturer.  I would have resigned after 8 turns against that as well.

Dear opponent (yourface), I'm sorry you lost connection and were forced to resign after timing out. You were completely destroying me, and I would have had no chance to win.

Dear nxo004, I am sorry.  I only intended to use the Governors to gain gold, then Watchtower hands full of Gold.  I swear this was just spur of the moment.  I'm not even a good player, I promise.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201111/18/game-20111118-152940-e335e849.html

On that note though, I had never thought of Watchtowering a Province and Tournament before that happened...  nice combo when you can actually pull it off.

This is just cruel:

jsh357 plays a Followers.
... drawing nothing.
... gaining an Estate.
... ... revealing a Watchtower.
... ... trashing the Estate.
... nxo004 gains a Curse.
... nxo004 discards 8 cards.

Dear jonts26, I'm sorry that I... okay so maybe I'm just showing off a bit that I obliterated the guy on top of the leaderboard.

Also, Peddler + Worker's Village + trash for benefit = Win.

Well I won't defend my play that game, which I don't think was the best, but I will say this. When you have a worker's village to peddler rush and you lose out on the peddlers badly, your deck of worker's villages suddenly becomes pretty terrible. But you certainly deserve credit for grabbing 7 colonies in 15 turns.

Sorry, that may have come off harsher than I meant. The implication, which may not have come through was "Gosh, I must have gotten pretty damn lucky to beat such a good player by so much."

I don't think it came off as harsh at all. Your intention was clear. You may have gotten a little lucky. I mean, opening apprentice and then getting it with an estate the first three times around is nice. But you did play it well.

Dear Dominion While Intoxicated,

Registered just to post this because I felt so terrible.

I'm sorry I bought a single saboteur, played it once on the second-to-last turn and hit your Province, with which you would have won the game.
