engine board without trashing
opponent gains bishop

Did I miss something?

Well, Bishop isn't a very good trasher because it trashes for your opponent as much as it trashes for you.

Basically, with no other trashing on the board, you don't want to be the sucker who gives the other player (nearly) free trashing, right?

You can be the sucker if you're Governoring an Estate into something you actually need for your deck, but Bishop only gives you +vp and otherwise the effect is symmetrical so you only want it if you want those VPs.

Dear Verabo,

I'm sorry that I got 5/2 on a Mint/Fool's gold board and you didn't. That's the first time I've seen someone resign after turn 1.

Forgot to save the log, but a week or so ago I had the following sequence at the start of a game:

Turn 1: $5, Summon Sea Hag
Opponent buys a Chariot Race
Turn 2: Sea Hag triggers reshuffle and then discards Chariot Race; I draw Sea Hag again for turn 3.

I don't know how to retrieve game logs now with Shuffleit, but in game #10295678 on frankfurt just now,
did something I would consider very mean.
Kingdom:

I figured it would be a good game to go for castles when Museum is on the board. So after I emptied the castles, I used my last turn to buy Salt the Earth 3 times to trash the last 3 provinces. final score 97-59

In other news, he trashed my Crumbling Castle 3 times with Rogue.

Game #11777769 against stoogebag.

I did Scrying Pool for draw + Lost Arts on Black Market, and oh my god did my turns take forever, because I was continually playing Black Market, evaluating whether I wanted the buys, and redrawing bought Black Market actions with Scrying Pool. And then sometimes the card I bought from Black Market was itself gaining cards that I wanted to redraw, and that isn't even getting into me gaining new Black Markets midturn, and it was just a complete mess.

And now for the annual PSA:
Dear opponent:

I'm sorry that you're a bad player and I crushed you,

Let me tell everyone about it.

To clarify, this thread is really for "I'm sorry I chose a strategy/tactic that's particularly unpleasant to play against" (painfully slow engines, pins, milling provinces, etc.) or "I'm sorry I got really lucky and/or you got really unlucky," not "I'm sorry you're bad at Dominion and/or I'm good at Dominion."

In a game against Cave-o-sapien, with Scrying Pool, Swindler, no way to play more than 1 terminal a turn, and no +Buy.

Step 1: Start building.
Step 2: Hit Potion with Swindler, turn it into Death Cart.
Step 3: Start buying Pools while Cave doesn't have a Potion, using Pool's attack to force a Copper topdeck so that I can guarantee Swindling into Curse.
Step 4: Win Pool split 7-3, then use my Pools to hunt for Cave's remaining Pools to Swindle them into nothing.

I ended the game with 6 Pools. Cave ended with 1 Pool. Oh, and I ended up turning 5 of Cave's Coppers into Curses.

It was not pretty.

I think this particular Swindle is going in my Swindler Hall of Infamy.

One time we had catapult/rock and bandit fort. I bought a bunch of silver and gold so that I could trash them. I had all the catapults and so my dad got all 30 curses.

I played a game with my uncle where I got 8 of the black markets and he was about to fall asleep every time it was my turn

if it's a 2 palyer game, only use 10 curses.
number of curses = 10 * (number of players -1)

Dear My Opponent

I'm sorry I bought Blessed Village with 2 Copper left in hand, recieved The Earth's Gift, discarded one of those copper to gain another Blessed Village, and recieved The Flame's Gift to trash that Copper. That strikes me as rather fortunate.

I am sorry I complained about your luck of always having Trader in hand for my Cultist stack when you were, in fact, using Save to put it in your hand each turn.

I am also sorry I didn't realize that sooner.

Why would you complain? You were still giving him several junk cards each turn.  ;)
