mischiefmaker, sorry about forcing you to go for a miracle Swindler because I opened 5/2. And sorry that I managed to steal the win by predicting a Province hit on the last turn after Swindling one of your Duchies.

Dear domination:

I am sorry that you felt it necessary to berate me for my stupid buys and mistakes throughout this game.
http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20120217-132458-f3e67ce2.html

I am also sorry that you felt that I won due to "luck" since we had the "exact same cards," which apparently were so "stupid" that you mimicked them.  But really Trading Post over Library in a Fishing Village game?

Mostly I am sorry that you won't be playing against me again. Because it would be fun to dominate you some other time, but I don't like the rudeness.
Looking for this thread ;) ?

I'm expecting an apology soon from EEtotheveetotheEE

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201202/18/game-20120218-091400-a7c50ec9.html

The last turn is slightly disgusting: his economy is pretty much gone, he's trailing by 7 points and is first player, so he needs 8 points to win, he has only one Worker's Village, one Oasis and one Menagerie, yet plays them all in that final turn drawing 3 from Menagerie (of course), plays the Monument and has enough money to buy an Estate AND a Province for the win.

Geronimoo, can you say a little bit about why you went for Oasis in that game? I understand how Oasis is useful in games where you are liable to have lots of dead cards (curses and green) or when you want to rush Duchies and so $5 is plenty, but I don't see what you were trying to do with them in a Province race. To be clear, since writing online strips away a lot of tone, this is an honest question rather than snark; I'm genuinely curious how you hoped to play them out.

Oasis seemed fun here... find Monuments faster, discard colliding Monuments, enable the amazing power of the Menagerie... unfortunately the simulator says I'm an idiot  :P Just more proof I'm not simulating during games I guess  ;D

Does your simulator discard doubles found in a hand with menagerie..?

I apologize in general for building my deck to play KC-Possession, but I especially apologize for drawing it them together immediately after the reshuffle after buying Possession.

Nope, it doesn't.
I added some code so it does and now Oasis/Monument > Silver/Monument. So I wasn't an idiot after all. (This code is not yet available to the public)

I apologize for this game. My opponent opens masquerade potion with possession on board. I buy a potion later and possess him after he plays a tactician. D'OH!

Less to apologize for there than you think. Opening Potion when Possession is the ONLY potion card around is really slow - that potion is a dead card for a few shuffles. He drew 2p on his first shuffle (a useless hand) and then on his second shuffle. Whereas you did the right thing and bought a potion only later, when you were ready to use it to actually buy Possessions. So while the first-possession-right-after-tactician was pretty lucky, overall the fact that you got the Possession first and used it first was entirely unsurprising and deserved.

I'm sorry I was ahead by enough points that I could do this:

Quote
[...]
   Davio plays a Trading Post.
... Davio trashes 2 Provinces, gaining a Silver in hand.
Davio plays 3 Silvers and a Gold.
   Davio buys a Province.

All Provinces are gone.
Davio wins!

Gotta love those trash for benefit cards. Had trashed a single Province with Salvager or Apprentice before, Remodeled, Expanded or Forged a single Province into another and of course Ambassadored the occasional Province away, but nothing like this. :)

I Chapel-ed a Colony just the other day... I'm not sure if it was a good idea, or if I even needed to, but it felt like the right choice at the time.

It's amazing how much faster your deck gets without all those pesky Colonies clogging it up.

I was playing a chapelled Big Money deck and bought the first three provinces before opponent had any, so I chappelled them away so I had only gold and chapel in my deck reasoning that if I had got the first 3 that quickly, I should win the race to the next three out of 5 easily.

Didnt quite work out like that....

Indeed.  I noticed my deck was just about to the point where I would not be guaranteed 4 Fool's Golds when I played Envoy and I was already up 4-0 on Colonies, so I figured why not.  Ultimately, it is unlikely it would have played out any differently if I had left it.

Dear avenger,

Monument/Chapel is the #25 best opening, which usually would be pretty nice for you.  Unfortunately, I started 5/2 and was able to open Mountebank/Chapel, which is the #1 opening.

Consider that there were also Cities and Bridges on the board and the result was not pretty.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201202/22/game-20120222-144335-6a0f5e98.html

While it was pretty much inevitable given the starting hands, I would have to think that opening Swindler/Chapel or even Swindler/Swindler is the right move here as the 4/3 player.  Seems like the only chance is to hit one of the opening buys of your opponents before they have a chance to play them.

It's nothing really new, so I decided to put it here instead of to game reports.

KC / bridge is well known to be able to get 8 provinces in one turn if you have
2 KC, 3 bridge
in hand.

I wanted to play exactly this to get all provinces at once in a colony game, but look what it resulted in (t15) ;) :

Dear dr. girlfriend,

I'm sorry you opened 2/5 on this board:

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201203/03/game-20120303-183627-5134ced7.html

I got to open Tournament/Steward while you were stuck with Tournament/nothing.  Good on you for avoiding Counting House/nothing.

What really did Dr.GF in is that she never gave you a curse with a swindler. If I had gotten 5/2 on that board I would've gone swindler, not tourny.

This isn't my good playing, but my opponents bad luck. I can sum it up in on sentence:
My opponent had 4 king's courts, and was only able to play one.......
