Would he have won the game if your saboteur would have been a duchy? That is (Duchy on your side against his Province) against (nothing on your side against Duchy (?) on his side), no difference.

Anyway: Welcome! :)

Dear Gherkin,

I'm sorry that I gained 5 gold on turn 13 through governer/KC combo, then trashed 5 gold for 5 provinces on turn 14 through the same combo.

And to make matters worse, you had a misclick and trashed a province on accident.

If I recall correctly, Provinces would have been 4-4-4 and he was ahead by at least a Duchy. But I'll post the Council Room log when it goes up.

Oh, I just reread your post. Given the three player I'm not sure the Duchy would have done it, but I'd have to check the log.

Edit: http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111120-182337-bb645fb9.html Duchy would not have made the difference.

Dear jtwang,

I am sorry that when you used Governor to trash a gold for the last province, I just happened to have one of only 2 $4 cards in my hand and was able to gain a duchy to prevent your win.

I'm recently playing some games with my mother to show her the 2 newer expansions, few cards per game.
One game went like this:
First turn, I buy a Tunnel, she buys a Noble Brigand, revealing a Tunnel and a Copper, giving me a free Gold right before my second turn which made quite a difference. Now that was nice. :)

Please tell me she stole the Gold right back when she played Noble Brigand.

Dear jillybean:

Sorry this game devolved into a horrible pin game where you spent the entire endgame with 3-card turns:

Dear carebear,

I'm sorry. Despite Native Village is just not fast enough when my entire deck at turn 6 is Copperx2, Silver, Chapel, Governor. That kind of consistent advantage made the game rather lopsided. Please remember this game as an example of how powerful Chapel can be (I know I will remember).

Ok, so maybe I posted this because I felt proud to have decided on a strategy before the first buy ... that's a major leap for me. :)

Dear Basia

The worst I've ever felt after a Dominion game was after I played you.

http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111023-131411-fa15f1c7.html

My last "turn" says it all.  I KC'd and TR'd a Possession and developed my Platinum into a province (so him possessing me wouldn't be effective any more, then took 5 turns in a row using his deck.

Cheers to Basia for being a great sport and congratulating me on a well played hand as I apologized for taking over like that.

My opponent ends the game with buying two colonies....and gaining 8 curses, after he spent the entire game mega-turning to king's court a thief and trash my entire economy.  It was not a fun game for me...it was even less fun for him to realize he lost by one point.

I opened Mining Village/embargo...WHAT?   He is a well above-average player.

Dear Vlad,

I'm sorry you opened Witch/nothing to my Silver/Silver and played 8 Witch (actually 9, but I managed to get two in there as well, so only 8 curses were dealt) on me by your 11th (!) turn, only to still lose pretty comfortably somehow. Kind of a crazy game, still not sure how I didn't lose horribly :)

Dear NinjaBus, I'm sorry about how ridiculously well I drew this game. The first couple turns are basically perfect given my buys I think: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/06/game-20111206-124003-bbb4d701.html

6 Province (and a bonus estate) in 13 turns, despite "slowing down" (I use that turn loosely) in the midgame.

Dear Judgechild:

I'm sorry I <a href="http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111206-083419-813a91ec.html">pulled a Margrave out of the Black Market on a Chapel/Governor Colony board with no +buy in the supply</a>, thus allowing me to grab free Gold and draw my whole deck with Governors, Margrave you down to three cards, and then buy multiple Colonies. The Black Market shouldn't even have been a good buy for me, since I had too many other terminal actions at the time.

Dear fatlinkz, I'm sorry that you failed to understand that playing my Bishop with your Possession results in ME gaining victory points, and doesn't actually trash the card from my deck.

I tried to explain it to you twice, but you apparently don't read the comment box.

I probably would have won anyway, but it sure helped that you donated 16 VPs to me - and trashed some money that you could have been spending.

Dear theParty,

I'm sorry Fools Gold is much more powerful that it seems, and I'm sorry I ended the game playing five of them with a market for a double province buy when it looked like both our decks were struggling.

Dear Mathguy,

I'm sorry I played followers on turns 11, 12, 13, and 14, and then again on turns 16 and 17 (http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20111113-195023-275a7021.html).  I guess there is dominion karma since you beat me 4-3 in the tournament after this had been our only previous game.

Talking about luck:

How I managed to buy 2 Witches before my 2nd reshuffle (T3 & 4) and NOT have them collide once, is beyond me.
They almost collided, but Trusty Steed saved the day.

My poor opponent who though about getting a Familiar ended up with 9 of the 10 Curses, managed to trash 2 of them, but got obliterated anyway.

Then there was the case of the lucky Tournaments: I had 1, he had 5, I ended up with 3 prizes. Then again, I had more Provinces of course. :) I took the Followers to give him the last Curse and eventually Princess to get that last Province. And of course he played Witch on his turn after the Followers hit, but the Curses were already gone. :p

Log: http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/16/game-20111216-051040-ce2780f7.html

In fact, I didn't have terminal collision once, except for two Expands, but I simply Expanded the Expand, so it wasn't like I had a completely dead Action card.

It suprised me my opponent didn't ragequit and managed to squeeze out a 'gg'.  ;D

Kudos to SANOOK for taking such a beating without ragequit. I've never been that lucky myself, but even when I get to play one or two Witches more than my opponent, I usually get to hear that I'm very, very lucky.

Sorry buggy,

After I opened Sea Hag / Silver and you opened Mountebank/- I was interested in seeing how it played out. When my turn 3 Sea Hag replaced the Mountebank you would have had turn 4 with a curse, and then turn 5 replacing your new Sea Hag as well. As we agreed in the chat, ouch.

Thanks for playing it out.

Dear Snapper and OlivierH,

Sorry I didn't play out my turns that much faster. Having Torturer and Border Village in the same kingdom was bad enough, but having Scout meant I could set up my draws, and having Remodel let me convert excess Coppers into Estates.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201112/18/game-20111218-002856-b6e347dd.html

Neither of you stuck around for much longer once I could continuously keep buying up more Border Villages, but I don't blame you.
