Shadowrift - A Deck-Building Cooperative Game

Shadowrift(BGG link) is a soon-to-be-released, deckbuilding, cooperative game for 2-6 players.

In Shadowrift, the players are protecting Haven Town from various invaders, respresented by 20-card decks of enemies: Demons, Glacien(cold-themed creatures), Necromancers, Fire Dragons, Drow, and Storm Lords(weather-themed).

There's a shared deck called the Village deck, initially populated by 10 basic villagers. There's another 16 cards in what's called the Travelling Villagers deck, which contains both helpful villagers that can hired to add to your town, as well as nasty "infiltrators" that will sneak into town and cause havoc.

The game is very thematic: For example, the Vagrant can sneak into town, and doesn't "hurt" you, but takes up a valuable spot in the town, and if you give him some money, he'll go away for a while.

Another neat thing is that players can specialize: One can be a damage-dealer, another can focus on healing, and yet another can focus on hiring villagers and building walls to protect the town.

If you like combo decks in Dominion, and you like cooperative games, I think you'll love Shadowrift.
