Life at sea was an easy life for some, and a hard life for others aboard the PS Vaccarino. Captain Grujah lived the life of luxury due to running his own pirate ship up and down the pearl coast. Always getting the pick of the loot and the women, and for him more importantly, the grog! Cap'n Gruj liked his drink above all things, especially the rum. And when he got drunk, he got mean. And his favourite way of getting mean was to play games with his 13 crewmen, often at the risk of their lives!

The game he had decided today, after a long days drinking was one of his favourites. It was called Diving for Pearls! He anchored the ship and sent a secret message to three of the crew. They were to throw three of the captains more valuable objects into the sear just over the side of the boat, down amongst the reefs. Then all of the crew were to dive in, and the first three to bring back the objects would get a promotion! The promotion would be that they didn't get flogged or worse.

The three trusted men secretly picked some of the good stuff out of the captains hoard, and a lot of rubbish as well. These were chucked over the side as the ship lay anchored. The next morning the captains horn bellowed out and the crew assembled to find out their task for the day.

So that day, 13 men dived into the sea. However, everything was not as it seemed, as one by one the men resurfaced, some with small closed treasure boxes and others with nothing. When the first of them climbed aboard they noticed that good old Captain Grujah was hanging from the rigging, his fat bloating body swinging in the air, looking very much like Ahab's whale!. It seemed his three trusted crew members had only broken the surface of the water and gone down a few feet before returning to the ship and putting an end to the Captains cruel reign.

At first there was much rejoicing amongst the crew, as they had all suffered under the joke of the Ol' Grujah during this trip. But soon those cheers turned to suspicious looks, there was still the captains treasure below decks, a vast horde. And if the people who had hanged the captain were of a mind, they could do the same to anyone of them. It would usually just be a matter of remembering who, but no one on board was sober enough to remember their own name, let alone somebody else's. They would need to find out who the killers were before they were all picked off. As pirates are known for their democracy, you all gather around to decide who is to walk the plank and turn into shark chum.
